"And here's the auditorium," Mrs. whatever her name was said, drowning on and on about some music program or something.
I couldn't keep my eyes of of Alaina. Everything was so weird between us. I wasn't sure where we stood in terms of a relationship right now. I had to admit, that night at the bar was definetly something I wasn't going to forget. Something about the way I felt when I kissed her, I don't know.
Sounds cheesy but it was true.
The thing was, she didn't remember anything. And I did.
There was no way I was going to tell her that though. With what just happened between me and Selena I couldn't trust anyone anymore.
But there was still something about her that I couldn't explain, that I was hoping to find out.
"Justin!" Alaina's voice interrupted my thoughts. "What are you doing?"
I snapped out of everything, and realized I just zoned out while staring at her. "Nothing," I quickly said.
"Let's just get this overwith," she replied, turning around and walking off, implying for me to follow her.
"Get this overwith?" I asked, catching up to her. "You don't want to do this?"
"Not with you," she snapped.
"We'll I'm not excited about spending one and a half hours a day with you either," I said.
Lies.
"Well I guess we're on the same page then," Alaina said, stopping at a room that I was guessing the tutor center. I followed her into the room as she set her books down on the table, taking a seat.
"Everyday at 1:30 you'll be here, and if not then I'm leaving. I'm doing this for you and I'm not excited about it either but if you cooperate then it will make things easier," she said while opening a book.
I didn't know what I did to make her so mad, but it must have been something. I stood there, confused. One minute at my house she was practically scared of me and now she was like this.
"Well?" She asked, tapping her pencil on the table.
"Oh, right," I replied, sitting on the seat next to her.
She flinched, and scooted her chair a little bit farther away from me.
I didn't know what her problem was, but one day she was acting afraid of me and vulnerable and then she was acting all bossy, and now she was acting weird about me again.
"What?" I asked, scooting my chair a foot away from her. "Is that better?"
She sighed an ignored me, opening up a page in the book.
"No," I said, closing the book.
"Excuse me?" She asked. "Last time I checked your the one doing awful in geometry and need help, so you'll listen to me."
"What's your deal?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" She asked, folding her arms across her chest.
"Every time I get within a foot of you you back away," I started. "And your all quiet one minute and then bossy the next and then the next minute your I don't even know!" I threw my arms up in the air.
"Nothing you would understand," she mumbled.
"And then you show up with this weird ass black eye," I added. "I don't understand you."
"Why do you care anyways?" She asked me.
"I don't," I responded.
"Then why would you ask about it?" Alaina asked.
