I sat on the counter, swinging my legs back and forth. I took my phone out, contemplating if I should call Justin or not. It was really nice of him, but it surprised me.

Whatever me and Justin had was weird, because sometimes I wanted to open up to him and sometimes I wanted to punch him in the face.

I looked at the piece of paper again, typing the number into my phone. He said he wanted to make it up to me, but if he tried anything I was going to be done. I didn't want anything to happen between us, and I wasn't going to let anything happen.

There it was again, my mixed feelings about him.

Even though I wasn't sure if it was the right decision, I pressed the green button on my phone. I put the phone up to my ear as I listened to the ringing.

"Hello?" I heard Justin's voice from over the phone, making me feel instantly nervous.

"Hey," I said, "I got your note."

"I was hoping you would," Justin said.

"So," I started, "how do you want to make it up to me?"

"Well I was thinking we could hang out tonight," He replied.

"I don't know, after what happened last time-"

"I don't mean like that," he said, "just as friends."

I would be lying if I didn't say that kind of hurt. I thought he maybe sort of kind of liked me, but I guess not.

"Umm," I said, trying to think of something, "I'm busy tonight."

"Oh," Was all Justin said. "Well I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Yeah," I said. "Bye."

I sighed, shoving my phone back into my pocket along with the piece of paper. I was so confused right now. Sometimes he acted like he liked me, and sometimes he was just a total ass.

Maybe it was my fault, because I was so afraid to open up to anyone. I had a feeling he was the same way though, and there was more to him.

I hopped off of the counter, and walked back into Leslie's room. She was in the same place on her bed, texting someone on her phone.

I went back to my geometry, and finished it within 10 minutes. I didn't get how Justin didn't understand this, it was so easy.

"I'm done," I said, closing my books. "I should probably get home now."

"You can stay here if you want to," Lauren said, "my mom is making a good supper."

"Nah," I said, throwing my books in my bag. "I'm just gonna go."

"Are you sure?" She asked. "You used to love staying for supper."

"No I'm fine," I replied.

"Are you okay?" She asked hesitantly, setting her phone down.

"I'm perfectly fine," I mumbled before leaving her room.

"So, based on that, what would be the measurement of angle B?" I asked Justin, who was writing out something on his paper.

"Umm.." He said, thinking. "43 degrees?"

"Yup," I said while nodding.

"Why are you so quiet today?" Justin asked, leaning back in his chair.

"We're supposed to be working on geometry," I replied.

"But look, that was the last problem and it's only 2:10 which means we have 20 minutes left," He said.
