Ch. 18 - "But first let me explain"

*Lauren's POV*

"Hey," Ryan smiled, wrapping his arms around me in a hug. He squeezed me, lifting me up a little bit, causing me to giggle.

"Do you want me to puke?" I asked, causing him to set me down.

He scrunched up his nose. "No thanks."

"So whats so important that I had to come right now?" I mimicked him. 

"I'm guessing your aware that Alaina and Justin are fighting?" He sounded like a dedective or something like that, and I smiled.

"You sound so professional, like a detective or something" I laughed, "but yeah, I have. Why?"

"Well I think it's time that they stop acting so stupid and realize that they need each other. Especially Alaina, she's dealed with so much shit and this just adds onto it."

I nodded, realizing he was right. Alaina had been through a lot of crap and as her best friend, if I could, I wanted to end that. "And I know Justin's being a jerk about the whole thing but Alaina shouldn't have looked at his phone. So both of them are to blame, just making that clear." 

"Okay," I said, urging him on.

"I just didn't want one of us to take Justin's and then other take Alaina's side and then we'd be fighting too." He shrugged.

 "Okay?" I cocked my eyebrows. "Where is this going?" 

Like I said before they're both being stupid and need to stop, it's been what, a week already?" He asked. 

I nodded. 

"And they can't even work things out," He said as I shook my head in approval. 

"Then I say we do something about it." 

"Like what?" I asked, liking the sound of this. 

"After I tell you the plan, you talk to Alaina and I'll talk to Justin. Sounds good?" Ryan asked. 

I nodded my head. He smirked, throwing his arm around me. 

"We can be detectives together!" I squealed, and he rolled his eyes. "We be like those cute couples on those stupid movies, and even make our own theme song!" 

"Babe, you're adorable, but no songs please," He said. 

I crossed my arms on my chest and pouted. "Why not?" 

"Because I have lots of other things we could be doing right now than making some song," He moved his arm down to my waist, pulling me into him a little bit closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck and started to lean in. 

Instead of kissing him on the lips, I pecked his nose. "That's all you get until you let us make a song!" I giggled, running away from him. 

*Alaina's POV*

"Seriously?" I threw my arms up in the air before kicking the radio. Beauty and a Beat was just playing, and now All Around the World was on too.

"Someone's got a little bit of an anger problem," Lauren stated as I heard her walking up to me from behind. "You and Justin still fighting?"

I just looked at her before turning away. Did she really even ask that question? It was kind of obvious.

"I'll take that as a yes." She sat down next to me, placing her phone on the ground next to her. There was an awkward silence before she turned to me.

"Why don't you guys just give it up?" Lauren asked.

"I would but he's being an ass about it," I replied. "I don't even know why we're still together if we are just gonna fight all of the time like this. It's pointless."
