A/N hey everyone, so here's the latest chapter. I know it's not original still. I tried to add my own things but this is still important for where I want the story to go. Don't forget to leave me a comment or any ideas you may have. It would be much appreciated :)

Chapter 3

"Your mom asked me to keep going till the end, now I'm asking you to do the same, to keep going no matter what, I love you."

Those are the last words my father will ever say to me. The last thing I will ever remember is the man that forced me away....away into a world much crueller then he knew. He took my choice away from me, my choice was to stay with him as it all ended.

I raised my head, memories of what happened started to come back to me. I rubbed my eyes and looked around.

"'Bout time ya woke up," Daryl laughed from beside me.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Bout an 'our out of the city, decided to just keep going till we find fuel, then decide what to do," Daryl replied.

I just nodded and leaned against the door, I didn't really know what else to say. I don't know whether I was mad at him for helping to take my choice away from me, proud that he listened and honoured my father's last wish or that I was grateful for him saving my life.

After god knows how long everything finally stopped, I looked around to scan the area and saw we were in a small little town, not much of anything around. Daryl and I got out of the car and joined the others next to the RV.

"Daryl, T Dog check the cars, get any fuel from the cars you can I wanna be ready to go first light. Shane and I are going to look for shelter, a place to sleep tonight. Glenn, Charlotte if you wouldn't mind looking for food, these stores don't look looted so bad, if you find anything we can use take it. The rest of you stay put, Dale keep on watch. Everyone be careful, we don't know what could be around," Rick gave out the orders and everyone went their own way.

I headed to Daryl's pick up and looked inside, I realised I had nothing. No clothes. No weapon. Nothing.

"Hey," I lifted my head to find Daryl standing in front of me, "Here, thought ya migh' need this." He held up the duffel bag that I had packed to amuse him. I was so surprised he had had the time to grab it.

"When we were all rushin' out the doors, I asked the others to grab our bags while I tried to convince you to come," he tried this best to put on a smile.

I didn't really know what to say, I grabbed the bag off him and flashed him a smile, a way of me saying thank you. I unzipped it, and right on top was the picture of me with my parents when I graduated pre-med at college. I didn't pack this, I looked up and Daryl had vanished.

"Hey Charlotte, you ready?" I heard Glenn yell. I quickly zipped my bag threw it in the passenger seat and joined Glenn's side.

"I don't have a weapon," I replied.

"You ever shoot before?" Shane asked looking through a bag filled with guns.

"Yeah my best friend was in the force, taught me at the range," I replied.

"Here have this one," Shane handed me a handgun, "It's fully loaded but only use it if you have too."

"Take this too," Rick said as he passed me a knife, "Quieter than a gun."

"Thanks," I smiled taking it, I tucked the gun in the back of my pants making sure the safety was off and placed the knife in my pants of the side, quick access if I need it.
