Chapter 10

I started to wake up when someone was placing kisses along my neck. I took a deep breath in and stretch out as much as I could with another body beside me.

"Morning Mrs Dixon," I heard a deep southern voice say.

"Say it again," I smiled as I opened my eyes.

"Mrs Dixon," he smiled back at me.

I placed a hand on his cheek, "I like it."

"Me too," he replied.

"Better get up, got to check on Herschel," I mumbled.

"Told Rick I'd help with the cars and the bodies today," he added.

I nuzzled my head into his chest as he was lying sideways and me on my back.

"Can we just stay?" I asked.

"What happened to I have to pull my weight?" Daryl laughed.

I couldn't help but laugh, "I know, I know."

"Come on gorgeous time to get up," Daryl laughed as he stood up causing my head to fall on the pillow. I let out a groan and I pushed myself up with my good hand. Once I was up I got dressed and turned to leave, before I could I was grabbed by the wrist, turned around and bumped into something solid. Lips were placed on mine and a hand on the back on my head was used to deepen the kiss.

"I love you," he whispered, I opened my eyes and took a deep breath to recover from what had just happened.

"I love you," I smiled back.

Daryl took hold of my hand and we left the guard tower to be met by Rick on the outside.

"Morning you two," he smiled.

"Morning," I smiled back.

"You two look thick as thieves," Rick replied as he walked over to Carol and T who were waiting by the knocked over bus.

"I'll go check on Herschel," I smiled.

"Alright, stay safe," Daryl replied.

I kissed his cheek and walked into the prison, I liked the guard tower, didn't look as haunted as it did in here. I made my way through to Herschel cell, to find him staring at the top bunk.

"Hey Herschel," I smiled grabbing hold of his hand, "How you feeling?"

"Good thank to you," he replied.

"Ah it's what I was trained for," I spoke.

"You are an angel," he smiled. I just smiled back, didn't really know what to say.

"You are the toughest son of a bitch I've ever met," I commented as I looked down at his leg, "Pardon my language."

"Well thank you I guess," he laughed.

"Where's Beth and Lori?" I asked.

"Went to eat and rest I think," he replied.

"Alright, how about I change these bandages and we'll see about sitting you up," I smiled.
