A/N hey everyone, here's chapter 13 hope you all like it.
Chapter 13
I left Daryl out in the courtyard, what was wrong with me? I guess I understood why he did it and the fact that he was coming back but I don't know how to get past the leaving me thing.
That night I slept in the cell I woke up in, by myself. It was lonely and I didn't like it much. I didn't get much sleep either, every time I closed my eyes I saw 'his' face, felt 'his' knife, 'his' touch and heard 'his' voice. Everything about him just haunted me. I decided to quit on the whole sleep thing and went to the cafeteria area, I'm not sure what you'd call it but that works seeing as there is tables and we eat there.
"Morning Charlie," Glenn spoke when I sat at the table. It was only Glenn and Carol in the room.
"Morning," I replied softly.
"You ok?" Carol asked.
I nodded, "Just tired."
"Did you sleep?" Carol asked.
"Not really," I replied.
Carol and Glenn didn't say anything after they exchanged a look.
"What happened with Daryl?" Glenn asked, I just looked at him with a questioning look, "He stormed out of here earlier."
"And he slept on the perch," Carol added.
I took a deep breath, "I know you guys heard us fight, don't pretend you didn't and I haven't gotten over you lying to me either. Even though I get where ya comin' from."
Glenn lowered his head, "I'm sorry bout that Charlie, I am and I was gonna tell you. Just didn't really know how, to be honest."
"I said I understand," I stood up, "I forgive you cause it ain't ya fault but you ever lie to me again and ya got another thing comin'."
I shot them a smile before I headed outside.
"Hey Charlie," I heard from behind just as I reached the courtyard.
"Yeah," I turned to find Carol running over to me.
"Would ya mind keeping watch in the guard tower?" she asked.
"Sure," I nodded.
It was a hard climb due to the fact I wasn't 100% but once I reached the top I finally felt ok and at peace. This guard tower was my sanctuary, I felt safe here. I sat up on the railing and looked out across the field. I can't believe we lost the field to the walkers, it made such a good area to farm and even just have the open space.
Suddenly I heard someone enter the tower, I turned around and raised my bow. A head of brown hair then appeared through the hatch.
"Daryl," I groaned, "I coulda shot ya."
"What ya doin' up here?" he asked.
"Carol asked me to keep watch," I replied.
"What?"
I looked at him confused.
"She asked me the same," he added.
He climbed through the top and looked over the railing.
"Oi what you two doin'?" he asked, I stood up as well to looked over and see Carol and Glenn standing at the bottom, Glenn was meddling with the door.
"Did you just lock us in?" I asked.
"Yep," Glenn replied looking upwards with a smirk.
"I'll kill ya Korean," Daryl yelled.
"You two need to sort your shit out, we haven't got time for people to be at each other's throats. So till you do, we're locking the doors."
