This has been sitting in my drafts for almost 2 yrs. No there will not be a part 2, so DO NOT ask.

Crystal

Life just keeps throwing me the craziest curve balls and this one takes the cake. I'm walking into my home after just having been ambushed by my best friend and his wife. To say I am shocked is minimizing how I actually feel. I'm way past shocked at what they just asked me to do/be. I'll get to what they asked me in a minute. Like my tv character Fatima I need a few minutes to process this. I am going to shower, drink some wine, and then see how I feel. Now I have to think about this shit. It really is some shit too and I just can't wrap my mind around it.

3 Hours Earlier

I arrived at the Ellis home right in time for dinner. I hadn't been to their home in a while because our relationship had been strained since Khadeen realized that Devale has more feelings for me than he's willing to admit. What that has to do with me? I don't know. They are his feelings. Why are you holding your husband's feelings against me? Devale had also been acting weird since I had starting dating the nigga that no longer matter cause we ain't together no more. I pulled into their driveway and parked my G-wagon. I both loved and hated my car. It was a great vehicle but it seemed like every few months something was happening with it. My ride was blacked out on the outside, black and red on the inside. My bestie Devale actually picked the colors. It took a minute to grow on me, I'm usually a neutral color girlie.

I sat in my car and took a few deep breaths calming my nerves. I grabbed my little mini LV crossbody from the passenger seat and exited my car, locking it even though I didn't really need to. The Ellises lived in a gated community and their home had its own gate too. I pushed my sunglasses up on my face and made my way to their front door. I rang the doorbell and Khadeen told me to come in through the RING bell. I smiled and entered the home. I was immediately met with noise that I both loved and loathed at the same time. I someday wanted my own house full of kids whether I had them naturally or adopted them. I went towards the noise to greet my babies who I missed. Even though Kota is my godson, Jackson is my favorite. The Ellises were doing great raising well rounded young men. It showed in how all their boys behaved. They were the complete opposite of "boys will be boys" parents and I loved it because I could see Khadeen's Caribbean roots in her children.

All the boys came running when they realized I was in the room. I loved getting hugs from the Ellis boys. Jackson and Kota hung on to me longer than Kairo and Kaz. All four boys were in some way four versions of Devale. It always amazes me how much each one looks like a different version of Devale with a little bit of Khadeen mixed in. I guess me being in their house meant that Khadeen and Devale were finally past whatever it was that was going on with them. Again, it ain't have nothing to do with me cause I was too far up my ex man's ass to even really bother with Khadeen and Devale. I tend to do that dumb shit when I get with a man, why? I don't know. I'm still a work in progress. Kota didn't want me to put him down so I didn't. I walked into the kitchen where Khadeen and Mimi were finishing dinner. I greeted the women with hugs and we chatted for a minute.

"Where's D?" I asked as Kota finally let me go and walked away to be with his brothers.

"He's in the office, something about you guys new script."

"Okay, I'll go say hello and see what's up."

I left the kitchen and walked down the hallway to the office where I stopped at the door taking a breath before knocking on the door. I hadn't been in Devale's presence since we all had gone to LA and that was around the time that I broke up with the nigga. So I was dealing with life and wasn't in the best mood. Finally I knocked on the door and entered the room as Devale said come in. As soon as he saw that it was me, he began smiling. I can't lie, the man was handsome but I wanted no parts especially because of his wife. She is Caribbean and from New York. I want no parts of that combination. I assumed he got to the part of the Zatima season 3 script and saw that for some reason he gets locked up yet again. I knew he was going to have an issue with it. Shit I know I do, I am going to have to talk to Tyler cause our collective visions are no longer aligning. Zac and Fatima have been through enough shit, why does their drama always have to center around other people and Zac going to jail? I wasn't feeling it and clearly Devale was for it either.
