"What the fuck was that about?" Bakugou broke the silence after your father was out of earshot. You turned to glare at him before speedwalking out of the building, heading to your room. "The hell? Now you're mad? Wait where are you going?" He said, confused as he followed you out the building.
"Why were you there!? Why did you say that to him!?" You questioned him back, worried about what your father's thinking about the interaction that happened earlier.
"I'm supposed to be mad at you, remember? Not the other way around, I was trying to fucking help." He explains and reminds you of what happened the other day at the mall.
"There is no helping with him. It just makes things worse" You say with a sigh, running your hands along your face and slowing your pace as you enter the dormitory building. "And I'm sorry about the other day." You apologize one again, stepping into the elevator.
"Are you really?" Bakugou sasses, crossing his arms as he steps into the elevator as well. "You didn't text, call, or come by my room for a whole day." He said, looking away when you turned your head to look at him. You could still tell he was pouting.
"You said to leave you alone so I th-" You try to explain yourself.
"I know what I said idiot. I didn't fucking mean it." He admits, looking at you with a scowl you know is just for show. He lets his arms fall to his side and looks down slightly before speaking again. "I was ready to forgive you as soon as I left." He said in a quieter, softer tone.
You took a step closer to him, forgetting all about your father. Just as you raised a hand to cup his face the elevator dinged and the doors slid open, snapping you back to reality. You take your hand back and quickly walk out the elevator.
"Is Aizawa fine with you missing class?" You ask as you unlock your door, knowing it's a stupid question but you wanted to distract yourself.
"You did not just try to change the subject." Bakugou says, obviously offended as he walks into your room behind you.
"I'm just saying, he doesn't take tardiness lightly and I need to hurry up before the driver gets impatient." You explain as you pull a backpack from your closet and begin rummaging through your drawers.
"Who do you think called Aizawa?" He said, throwing his hands in the air, irritated by your attempts to change the conversation.
So that's why he left right after he gave you his jacket? He was mad at you but still helped you. You paused for a moment in thought before shaking your head and trying to snap out of it.
"I still think you should go." You say, shoving some clothes into your backpack.
"How much time did they give you?" He walked over to you, completely ignoring what you said.
"The rest of the semester." You sighed as you told him, shoving your chargers into the small pouch in the front of your backpack.
"It's almost the end anyways, that's not too bad." He shrugs, leaning against your dresser beside you. He was acting so normal, so casual, but your mind couldn't stop thinking about what your father is thinking now and what he might do.
"Bakugou." You stopped packing for a second as you spoke. "You were right, I don't think I'm ready for this." You admitted, looking down at the ground.
"What?" His voice lost the casual tone as he stood up straight. "I was just mad, I didn't actually mean that." He said, stepping closer to you, but you just kept stuffing things into your bag. "Fine you win." He groans, grabbing some clothes out of your bag and throwing them on your bed to get your attention.
"Hey!" You say, snatching your clothes back. He grabs your arm pulling you closer to him and looking you in the eyes.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that. Now can we go back to normal?" He apologizes, bringing his face closer to yours. You want nothing more to let your lips meet and melt into his embrace but it feels like the closer you two become the more trouble you cause for him and everyone else.
"I can't." You sigh, pushing him away gently and continuing to pack your bag.
"So that's it? One argument with your Dad and you're back to pretending like you don't care." He speaks after a moment of silence, crossing his arms again. You stay silent, not really knowing what to say and not wanting to make the situation worse. "It's really that easy for you to just leave?!" He began to raise his voice, more furious by your silence.
"It's not, I just..." You can't even find the words to defend yourself without wanting to burst into tears and wrap your arms around him.
"Was I just a distraction!? Is that it!?" He argued, and you were grateful that everyone else was in class because if they were in their rooms Bakugou's voice would definitely be heard.
"What? No!" You reply, facing him now. "You just don't get it." You argue, running a hand through your hair.
"Did I really mean nothing to you?!" He yelled back, not satisfied with your responses.
"You mean too much to me!" You yell back. "You make me feel...so much, too much! I can't take it." You finally admit, having to pause to find your words. "I had everything figured out, knew exactly what I had to do, yeah I didn't exactly like it but it was safe." You explained, now pacing in front of him, finally speaking your mind so he patiently let you finish. "But now, with you...you changed everything! You changed me!" You drag your hands down your face as tears flowed down your face like it pains you to say those words.
"What's so wrong about that?" He argued, a little softer this time, reaching out to hold your hand but you took a quick step back.
"It's not safe!" You exclaim. "You don't know how my father can be, what he'd do if he found out." You continue, zipping up your bag and slinging it over your shoulder as you wiped your years.
"So you're just going to let him control you your whole fucking life? That's alright with you?" He questioned, stepping in front of you, blocking the door.
"God I knew you wouldn't understand. I like you, my actions have consequences." You explain, pushing past him and walking to the elevator.
"You don't fucking mean that!" He yelled out to you, not following you anymore. He was met with silence as he watched the elevator doors close with you inside.
