"This is just but the beginning and I am very much here to stay! Period!" –Zulekha Akram.
Hell.
The very depths of it.
For Hisham Hosseini, that wasn't a place.
Rather...
It was a person.
More specifically...
A woman.
A woman that he had chosen.
A woman that he had married.
A woman that he had loved.
Sadly, she had ended up being the...
Woman he had survived.
Barely survived!
Zulekha Akram!
That was the name she bore.
A literal storm.
A storm that didn't just pass but rather...
Thundered!
A storm that didn't sink ships but rather...
Sank hearts!
A storm that didn't just tear through oceans but rather...
Tore through hearts...
One heartbeat at a time!
To think he had chosen to walk right into it!
In all honesty...
What kind of a man watches the clouds darken and still opens every window in welcome?
A man that sees the storm swelling and still sets sail without even a map or an anchor?
Of course it had to be him and him alone.
For only Hisham Hosseini had the heart of a man who...
Didn't run away from fire but rather chose to walk right into it hoping that it would warm him.
Call it foolishness.
Call it naivety.
Whatever it was...
The damage had been done.
The scent of her very much strong, very much expensive perfume arrived long before she did.
A perfume so sweet on the surface but way too venomous underneath.
It sipped right through his skin causing him to do nothing but freeze- completely.
Every functioning muscle- paralyzed.
For his body knew way before his mind could even catch up.
He watched!
He did nothing but watch!
Watched very much helplessly as she got to the glass door.
Watched as she forcefully yanked it open, not a care in the world almost as if she owned the damn place.
Almost as if she very much knew that this was her territory and there was absolutely nothing anyone could do about it.
He even more helplessly watched as she walked right up to him.
Her walk holding no kind of softness, no kind of humility and absolutely no pause.
It was a walk filled with only the sharp certainty of a woman who thought that the room and the man standing in it...
Still belonged to her!
