The Note

Ethan's POV

I walk into the kitchen to see Cadence standing there with her hands over her mouth and her mom has a gun held up to her head.

"Goodbye," her mother says before she pulls the trigger.

*BANG*

Cadence falls to her knees. She starts to cry. I didn't except that happening! I rush over to Cadence to see if she was okay.

I bend down where one knee was on the floor and the other was bent. I put my hand on her back trying to comfort her even though I don't like her.

She has her hands over her eyes, sobbing into them.

"Cadence," I say in a nice voice.

"Oh sorry," she sniffed "I don't even know why I am crying when this is a good thing, but the bad thing is now I don't know what I am going to do..." She said.

"I don't really know why I am crying since I don't have to get beat by my parents anymore!" She said not giving me eye contact.

"I guess it just the thought that I am going to be alone," she said looking up at me.

Her beautiful eyes caught me! It was like I was under a spell she put on me. Why didn't I ever notice how pretty she is? That is going on in my brain?

"Everything will be okay," I say trying to comfort her.

"You can't tell anyone Ethan, but who am I kidding? You are just the guy that beats the shit out of me everyday and doesn't care if I'm hurt or not. As you can see I am having family problems and I always have which made my like even worse! I have razors that say people's names on it to show who hurt me. I am positive that Grayson's was the sharpest!" She said with tears forming into her beautiful blue eyes.

"I'm sorry," I say.

She looks up at me confused.

"Sorry?" She said back.

"Yeah I am sorry for everything that I have done and I won't hurt you anymore," I say and I speak the truth.

"Thanks but you won't be able to anyway," she said and shrugged.

"What do you mean?"

"I am going to get all the money that's in this house and switch to online schooling and I am running away to LA! I have to leave!" She said getting up.

"You can't just leave!"

"Watch me!" She said.

"Uh hey, can I stay here tonight?" I ask her.

"Why?" She said.

"I kinda got kicked out for the night and my mother said to not come back until I was done having an attitude with her," I explain.

"I don't care," she said walking past me and going up the stairs.

Cadence's POV

Ethan followed me shortly making my way up the stairs. I was headed to my mom and dads room to see the money that they haves stashed.

I go into the spot where I normally take the money, it had a note saying...

Dear Cadence,

You got what you wished for. We took all the money out of the bank and put it here because we know that you need it but that doesn't mean that I care about you! Go fuck yourself and see you in hell.
