Evie gasped as she gazed at Ben's jacket on my side table. I fully opened my eyes. I said, "What are you doing?"
She said, "Is-Is that Ben's jacket?"
"Yeah!" I said. After a long silence, I said, "I was cold"
Evie said, "Did you steal it?"
I yelled, "No!"
She said, "How'd you get it?"
"He gave it to me." I said, "I forgot to give it back."
Mal said, "You tried it on?!"
I rolled my eyes. "I have to get changed."
Evie said, "This conversation isn't finished."
"Oh," I said, "But it is."When we arrived to school. I told the others, "I'll be right back."
I walked towards be and slipped the jacket off.
He said, "Hi."
I said, "I wanted to give you your jacket back."
"Thanks," he chuckled. "But you keep it."
I said, "What?"
He smiled and put the jacket back on me. He said, "There."
The bell rang and as he turned around, I ran to Evie.
She said, "Whoa. You still have it."
I said, "Evie, not the point!"
She sighed and took the jacket off. She straightened my shirt and put it back on. She took the advantage to part my hair nicely. She said, "There."
I growled and walked with her to Remedial Goodness 101.
The Fairy Godmother said, "Children, attention please! Um, as you know, uh, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon Prep. And your parents can't be here due to, uh, distance--"
I said, "Our parents aren't here because they're banished for how evil they were to others."
"As I was saying," she said, "We've arranged a special treat."
She turned around, revealing a screen. She turn it on, revealing Maleficent. She said, "I don't see anything, nor hear."
Maleficent backed away, revealing Cruella, Jafar, Evil Queen and Medusa.
Fairy Godmother motioned for us to come over. "Kids!"
Medusa shook the screen a little bit. "It is--is..."
Jafar said, "Press enter."
"May I see the remote?" Maleficent ordered, taking it from Cruella. "Is this thing on? Ugh, it's broken! I hate electronic equip--"
"Oh!" Evil Queen yelled. "Evie, it's Mommy! Oh!"
"Jay!" Jafar yelled, "Have you stolen the jacket that Maddie is wearing from her?"
"Oh, look how beautiful!" Evil Queen ignored Jafar. "You know what they say; 'the poisonous apple doesn't fall far from the tree'!"
I said, "Nobody says that."
Maleficent adjusted her horns. "Don't you mean the weeds?"
"Ooh!" Cruella said, "Who is that old bat?"
Mal said, "This is Fairy Godmother."
Maleficent said, "Still doing tricks with egg plants?"
I face palmed.
The Fairy Godmother was ever so obviously offended. "I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage!"
"You really couldn't give Cinderella one a.m.?" Maleficent continued. "I mean, really. What, the hamsters had to be back on their wheels?
The Fairy Godmother yelled, "They were not-they were mice!"
Mal said, "Yes, yes, thank you. Can we talk to our parents, please?"
"Oh, yes, yes." The Fairy Godmother moved aside. "Do."
Mal said, "Hi, Mom!"
"Mal! I m-m-m-m-" Evil Queen flicked Maleficent on the back of the head. "Miss you!"
Jafar said, "You children are not far from our thoughts."
Maleficent said, "How long must Mommy wait to see you?"
Let me translate; how long must I, Maleficent, wait to get my hands on that wand?
"Um," Mal said, "There's a coronation coming up. I think probably some time after... that..."
Maleficent said, "WHEN?"
Mal said, "Friday, ten a.m."
"Are you sure I can't see you before that? I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on that magic wa-" Medusa flicked Maleficent on the back of the head. "--You! You little nugget that I love so much!"
"C-c-c-c-Carlos?" Cruella said, "Is that a dog?"
Dude, whom was resting in Carlos' arms, whimpered.
"Oh, yes, Baby, I do understand it." Cruella pressed her stuffed dog. "It would make a perfect size for ear muffs!"
"He's the perfect size for a PET!" Carlos yelled. "This dog loves me and I love him. And F-Y-I, your dog is stuffed, so give it a rest!"
Cruella left the screen. "Oh..."
Jafar said, "Oh-ho-ho-ho! Burn!"
Cruella yelled, "Why don't you go sell a toaster, you two-bit salesman!"
Jafar said, "People who talk to stuffed animals shouldn't throw stones!"
Cruella said, "Well, people who sell toasters shouldn't use mixed metaphors!"
Jay yelled, "ENOUGH!"
I shut the screen.
The Fairy Godmother said, "I'm so sorry."
I chuckled, "Why are you sorry? We shouldn't have gotten our hopes up." Evie said, "Thank you for the special treat."
The Fairy Godmother replied, "Of course."
We walked out. I was ahead of everyone.
Evie called, "Maddie! What do you think our parents are going to do if we don't pull this off?"
I lied, "I think they're going to quietly disappointed in us, but ultimately be proud of us for doing our best."
Evie said, "Really?"
I said, "No. I'm lying."
Mal said, "We are definitely goners."
