The Battle (Final: part 4)

I opened my mouth to finish the story when I heard a knock on the door. "Anne, Flash, stay behind me." They both hid behind my legs as I approached the door.

I slowly unlocked it and opened the door.

Amy was there standing in rain. "Amy!" "Mom!" We all yelled out. I pulled Amy into my arms as Flash shut the door and then he ran to Amy and I; we had taken our seat on the couch.

"Oh Amy, you're okay!" I hugged her tightly and sat her in my lap. "How was it?" Flash asked her.

"Fine darling. Do you two mind heading off to bed? Your father and I need to talk." Flash and Anne nodded at her. Amy turned to me as they left.

"Sonic, this was a very close one. I don't know how we did it. Without you there on the mission made everything so hard. We need a babysitter for them. We can't keep almost dying and almost failing."

I gulped and simply stroked her back. "Ames, tell me exactly what happened." I demanded of her.

"Well... I found out why he needed my blood and bone all those years ago..." She huffed.

(Present day, 7 hours ago)

Amy climbed up the side of the mountain like a lizard. Knuckles was below her, not doing as well, but handling the steep incline well. Sticks was a mater climber, but she was having some difficulty. Tails however, wasn't doing too well at all. The mountain was misty and it was hard to see. Tails couldn't fly two inches or he'd bump into something.

"I hate climbing... Always has, always will." Tails complained to Amy and Knuckles.

"Don't worry. We'll get up there and take care of Lyric ASAP then fly back down." Amy reassured him.

As they got closer and closer to the top Amy heard sinister laughing. The fog was clearing, so Tails flew a little. They came to the top and saw Lyric holding Amy's bone and a bottle of her blood.

Lyric began to speak to himself. "Once I create warriors just like those five idiots I'll be unstoppable!" Lyric laughed. "Then I'll go after those children..."

Amy, filled with rage, stormed out and swung her hammer across Lyric's face. "You won't dare touch my children!" Amy hissed at him. Then, the battle started.

"Amy..." I said as she cried into my chest. "He wants to make our double gangers. We stopped him, luckily. But he's so strong, Sonic."

I cupped Amy's face and kissed her face gently. "I'll protect my family with my life, Amy. I'll die before I see you or the kids in the grave."

"Sonic, there's something else..." Amy said nervously. "What?" I asked her suspiciously. "My body is in a lot of pain. I'll be needing help to stand and walk."

"Don't worry, I'll help you." I told her.
