I began to have Braxton Hicks, which were just practice contractions, getting my body ready for childbirth and labor. It was normal to have them around the second to third trimester, which is scaring me terribly. I wanted Everest home when I gave birth.
I wanted Riley's birth to be our thing. I mean, I know that Fawn and the rest of the group would be there for me when I had the baby, but I just wanted my husband. I miss my husband.
There was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I called, expecting to hear Fawn or Robert call back, but instead, I heard someone with the voice I missed the most.
"Stanley, I'm home." I ran out of the kitchen to see Everest in the doorway. "Welcome home, Everest." I hugged him tightly.
My husband was home and safe. "Everest, don't ever leave me again." I felt my eyes burn with tears that threatened to fall. It felt so good to be back in the arms of the man I love.
"Hey, it's alright," Everest said, holding me. "I knew I was going to surprise you."
I looked up at him. "Does anyone else know you're home?" He shook his head. "No, you're the only one who knows I'm home." He replied, "It will be a big surprise for everyone, just like it was for you." I ran a hand over my bump when Everest was taking, feeling Riley move around.
"Oh, he's awake," I said. Everest placed a hand on my stomach. "He's probably happy to hear your voice again." I smiled, knowing that the three of us were together at last.

I just got out of the shower when my cell phone lit up. I grabbed it to see it was a text from Robert.
Can we talk? I'm tired of giving you the silent treatment over what had happened between us.
I looked at my phone for a second before replying to it. Robert and I haven't spoken since we shared that surprised kiss. I have just been so upset and angry at him due to that, since we had more things to worry about, that thing being Stanley being pregnant while Everest was away.
I couldn't bring it up since Stanley didn't know about it, and I wanted to keep it that way until Robert texted me just now.
He sent me another text.
Fawn, I know you don't want to talk about it, but it's eating me inside to talk to you about it, and since Stanley's so close to giving birth, I wanted to speak to you about this. Please?
I texted back. Sure, come on over.
Because I knew he wouldn't stop until he got his way.
