"Breath through the pain." Everest coached me, rubbing my back.  "These Braxton Hicks are getting stronger," I replied, "I don't know if they're the real deal or just Braxton Hicks."

"Well, we can go to the doctor and see where you're at," Everest blabbed, "because I'm worried that you're going into premature labor, Stan."  He rubbed my bump. "I just think Riley's getting impatient,"  I said, trying to joke through the pain.  "Well, you do have two more months after this, then Riley will be here."  I turned to look at my husband. "That's what I'm afraid of."

"Why do you say that?" he asked.     "Because I want Riley's birth to be our thing."   Everest's face fell. "Honey, look at me." He cupped the side of my face with his hand. "I understand where you're coming from since I'm in the service and such, but if I'm not there, I know Fawn and the rest will be there for you and coach you through everything, and I'll make sure I call Robert and stay on the phone with you until Riley is born."  He said, and I felt tears coming to my eyes.

"Thank you, Everest, I needed to hear that,"  I replied, turning around and being able to hug him.  "Yes, either way, Riley's birth is going to be our thing."  He wrapped his arms around me and gave me a peck on the lips.  "I love you."

"I love you too."

I walked into my kitchen, brushing my hair, when I heard a knock at my front door

I walked into my kitchen, brushing my hair, when I heard a knock at my front door.  I walked over to answer it to see Robert looking back at me.  "Robert, come in, come in," I replied. He walked in while I shut the door behind him.  "So, what do you want to talk about?"

Robert turned around. "Well, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I did to you when Stanley and Everest told us what they were having." Robert began, "I don't know what got into me."

"Well, I didn't like what you did to me that day," I responded. Robert looked down when I said that.  I knew he regretted what he did, I mean, he should feel ashamed of what he did to me.   I'm not the one who holds things against people, but how Robert started treating Stanley after what happened between us.   He was nowhere to be found to help paint Riley's room, nowhere to be found when we all pitched in and helped Stanley get ready for Riley while Everest was away at services.

"Where were you when we needed you? We needed your help with painting Riley's room.  Marr had to do it all himself with no help."  Robert didn't say anything to me while I spoke.

"We needed your help." I replied, "Your own brother asked me where you were, and I had to tell him I didn't know, since I had to lie to him!"

"Fawn-"

"Don't Fawn me!" I snapped, "I forgive you for kissing me, but I don't forgive you for how you treated Stanley. He's pregnant!"   Robert sighed before he began to speak.

"I know I wasn't the perfect brother to Stanley, but I'm here now, trying to make things right with you for him, before my nephew comes." Robert informed, "That should be for something." He came towards me, and I put a hand in front of him.

"Don't touch me," I said, putting my hands up afterwards. "Don't touch me!"  Robert rubbed his face with his hand. "Fine, Whatever." He replied, "I came over to talk, and this is how you reply to me?"

"Robert, I think you need to go."  His face fell. "If that's what you want, then so be it," he found his way out, shutting the door behind him.

I didn't want to talk to him after that.
