I was packing my stuff up to go back to the army when my husband walked in. "Do you have to go back?" He asked me, his voice breaking.

"I have to, honey," I replied, walking over to him, kissing him on the forehead. "I'll be back, I promise."  He looked away from me. "Hope you're back before Riley's born."  He sighed, rubbing his swollen stomach.

I knew he was worried about Riley's arrival from the moment we found out about the pregnancy. I could see where he was coming from since He's getting closer to giving birth, but I knew Robert and the others would be there for him if I weren't there, but I hope I was, since I didn't want to miss my son's birth.

"I hope so too." I cupped the side of his face, placing a gentle kiss on his lips. "I love you." Stanley began to cry. "I love you too." I wrapped him up in a hug, feeling Riley kick in protest of us hugging. "Don't go, don't go, please, don't go," Stanley repeated over and over again, sounding like a little kid who was in trouble.  It broke my heart to hear my husband beg me to stay, even though there is no way I could stay home with him.

"I'm sorry, Stanley," I said, cupping Stanley's face, wiping his tears away. "But I'll be back."  I turned and zipped up my bag, picking it up. My husband got out of the way when I walked out of the room, and down the stairs I went with Stanley behind me.

I placed my bag on the floor and turned around to be faced with Stanley. "See you soon."  I gave him one more hug before we shared a kiss, and I made my way out the door.

I was making something to eat when there was a knock on the front door. "I'm coming!" I called, wiping my hands off on a nearby towel and running to the door to open it to see Marr standing there. "Marr? This is a nice surprise." I replied, feeling my face grow red, seeing him.

"Nice to see you too, Melody." Marr blabbed, "No, the real reason why I came here was  that I wanted to know if you would like to go get a coffee sometime this week."  I didn't know how to reply to that, then it hit me. "Sure, I would love that." I informed, "That would be good."

Marr smiled at me. I felt weak in the knees.  "So, will Saturday work?"

"Saturday will work, yep, that would be fine with me." I blabbed like an idiot. "Perfect, well, I'll see you Saturday," Marr reassured, putting his hands in his pockets.

"See you Saturday,"  we said our goodbyes and I shut the door.

I got a date with Marr.

Nice.
