Everest and I sat in the waiting room of the doctor's office, waiting to be called.
I rested my head on Everest's shoulder. "You tired, honey?" He asked me, and I nodded. "The baby wouldn't stop kicking my ribs." Everest laughed at me.
"Jenkins." The nurse called. We got up and followed the nurse back to the exam room. "So, Stanley, how have you been feeling?"
"Huge." I quickly replied, "Huge is the word to use for me right now, and tired." She typed everything down on her laptop. "Are you suffering from any sickness anymore, because I know that was a problem early into your pregnancy?" She rolled my shirt up, exposing my bare bump, and she wheeled the ultrasound machine over. "This might be a little cold," she said, squeezing some gel onto my stomach, where she took the wand and ran it over my bump.
"Here's your little one." She said that Everest and I's eyes were glued to the screen, watching our little one move around on it.
"Let's give that heartbeat a listen." She said we heard a loud noise from the machine, which made me cry a little bit, knowing it was the heartbeat of the life Everest and I made together.
"Have we decided on if we want to know the gender or not?" I took Everest's hand in mine.

"Yes, we would love to find out," Stanley said. The nurse nodded while looking at the screen. "Congratulations, Everest and Stanley, you have a little boy on the way." Stanley looked at the ultrasound before speaking. "Riley Lee Morrison-Jenkins." He informed, "His name suits him." I leaned down and kissed him on the side of his head. "I love that." Stanley looked at me with a smile on his face. "I thought you would like it."
We both laughed at Stanley's comment.
"I love you, Stanley."
"I love you, too, Everest."

I was organizing my bookshelf when Melody came into the room. "Fawn, I have a question."
"What can I do for you?" I asked, looking back at her. "How can you ask a guy out?" I was blown away by that question. Melody doesn't speak a whole bunch about her love life, but when she speaks of it, it's serious.
"Ask him if he would like to go get a coffee somewhere."I asked, "Who is he?"
Melody sighed. "Marr."
I knew it. "Marr. You like Marr." Melody got up from where she was sitting. "I know it's silly, but I like him a lot and I want to ask him out, but I don't know how to do it, that's why I was asking you for advice, and since you gave me it, I'll leave you alone." She walked away after that.
