Chapter 2
4 hours and 17 minutes. It is the exact amount of time I was sitting on that god awful airplane. The man sitting next to me snored too loud and the lady beside me, kept fiddling with her bags in the compartment. As you can see, it was not a cheerful ride. Meanwhile, Bella sat next to a mega cute guy listening to music. She didn't know how lucky she was. I desperately wanted off that plane. I needed to stretch my legs.
Charlie was waiting for us outside the airport. His mustache was scruffy and unshaved, but he smiled like a newborn baby.
"Hi dad." Bella said, opening her arms for an embrace.
"Bells." He closed his arms around her and took a deep breath. "I missed you so much."
"That makes two of us." She let go from the hug and was smiling at him. Charlie looked at me. I almost saw tears in his eyes.
"Ella. Your so grown up. And beautiful." He opened his arms, and I gladly embraced him.
"Thank you. Your not so bad looking yourself." I said with a smile. He let go and took a step back to look at both of us.
"My little girls. All grown up." He said. He started grabbing the bags from me and Bella's hands. "Well, I think it's time you two got settled in. Afterwards, we can get dinner at the diner and go to La Push..." I stopped listening after dinner. I was starving.
It was only a ten minute drive to the house and I practically sprinted out the car to get out of the cold. Bella sprinted too, but slipped near the stairs. Clutz. I let out a laugh and Charlie glared at me.
"Don't laugh at your sister. You wouldn't like it if people laughed at you because you fell."
"But there's a difference. I don't fall." I said and grabbed the front door.
Instantly as I grabbed the door handle, my mind transported itself somewhere else. I was in the middle of the woods. I knew because of, well, all the trees. It was some type of clearing with an abundance of daisies. I smelt the air. It smelt fresh and clean and safe. I felt the warm sun on my bare skin. It felt like home.
A growl sounded from the nearby trees. I looked around. I didn't see anything. A louder, more authoritative growl came from the trees this time. I turned around slowly, hoping it was one of those animals where if you don't move, it won't hurt you. I saw a great black wolf the size of a horse stare me down. It's eyes were cold and vicious. It's paws stomped on the ground with a certain leadership you had to admire, but he was alone. There was no pack behind him or anything. It was just that one wolf. A lone wolf. I softened.
I put out my hand. I had no idea what I was doing, but I felt bad for it. It had nobody. The wolf softened too. It lowered its head and walked towards me. I ran my hands through its black fur. He let out a whine. I smiled. I'll be your friend little wolf. Don't worry. You won't be alone anymore. The wolf laid down on the grass and got comfortable. All of a sudden, his size got smaller and smaller. I looked down only to see a boy. Well, not a boy, but kind of a man. He had black eyes and black hair. His skin was tanned and he had a tattoo covering where his shoulder met his arm. He was stark naked, but I couldn't take my eyes off him. He looked up at me and asked, "Who are you?"
I snapped out of my dream. I was lying on the couch, and Bella and Charlie were looking at me worried. How did I even get on the couch? Bella smirked.
"I guess you do fall." She said. Ha ha. Very funny. But she still looked worried.
I got up and dusted off my pants.
"What happened?" I asked.
"We don't know. First you were about to open the door, them you just froze and fainted. You've been out for about 2 hours kiddo." Charlie's answered.
