Sorry I haven't updated much. I was too busy trying to finish the book White Lie's and Red Leather. They are VERY good. Go blame the author of them for my lateness. Thank you to all of those who've read this far.

"What's with your cheeks?"

I jumped. "Oh. Hi Erika, Anastasia, Reagan." I blushed. "Nothing is wrong with my cheeks."

"Yes there is." Reagan prodded me. I sighed.

"Fine. Justin walked me to class, said I was better than Ivy, and my cheek!"

"OMG! My sister would blow if she found out!" I looked at Anastasia sharply. "Not that I'll tell her." I relaxed.

What is wrong with me? Now I'm having issues trusting people? That is so not me. I walked into class.

"Hello students. We have a new student, Ashlee Zenobia Dimitri Shadows. I'm her mentor so I expect you to treat her well. Also, so I can find out about her marks and her new-found wings." People whispered. Great-just great. "Especially you Pandora. Don't try keeping to yourself this time. I'm watching you." Was Pandora bad? Prof.Fedora sat down in her chair.

"Ashlee can you come up front and tell us about yourself?" Jeez, how many times am I going to go to the front?

Uh oh. I knew that feeling. That uncontrollable feeling. I stopped. "Bat-shifting. Don't know how to control it!"

"Oh," she said. "Here drink this." She came so fast it took me a second to realize she'd put something in my mouth. I was back to my regular form. Or as regular as I can be. "We are going to work on your bat-shifting," she whispered in my ear.

Oh, how embarrassing!

"Okay," I said. "About myself. Well I can't control my shifting obviously." That earned a few chuckles. "I don't even think I'm supposed to be shifting. I like this academy and the teachers I've met so far. I'm a bit unusual, again, obviously." I looked at Pandora. She was beautiful. (No homo or anything.)

Black eyes, pure white curtain of hair, average height. She looked lost in her own thoughts but caught me eye. "Also, I know that I'll make friends with a lot of you in this class." She smiled. Okay so I was getting there. "Umm...I guess I'm done." I went to take my seat between Pandora and Anastasia.

"Since Ashlee is-unusual-as she put it, she has two mentors. Mrs.Fortuna is the other. Now, as we do everyday, get lost in your thoughts. You may write them down if you wish."

"Hey," Pandora said. "Mrs.Fortuna is my mentor too. My name is really Splendora. I don't care which you call me." She smiled. She had a perfect set of teeth. "Most kids here think I'm weird and avoid me. Like your friends."

She turned back to her thinking and wrote something down and handed it to me. It read 'Meet me under the giant tree after classes. Come alone.' I nodded to her and folded it up. Lost in thoughts of home, friends, and down-right wonder.

Rrrrring!

"Hello Ashlee. Again." I turned and drop-dead-gorgeous Justin was standing outside the door. "I've also got Prof.Drew with you."

I turned to my friends. "See you later. And close your mouths. You'll catch flies. He hooked my arm in his and for the moment I thought of James. Ironic isn't it? Always the gentleman. Until that moment with the questions.
