Chapter 32
Seth
"Finally it's the last day of school!" Ray shouted as he slung his arm over my shoulder, his other arm over Wes's.
"Keep it down, will you? It's only seven in the morning Ray," John rubbed his eyes, as if he had just woken up, which he probably had. John was known for rolling right out of bed and into the classroom.
"I will not stifle my happiness for you, now stop being a Debbie Downer and come with me to clean out my locker!" He skipped down the hallway like a girl on her last day of kindergarten while John followed him in a much slower manner.
"Have you cleaned your locker out yet?" Wes asked me.
"Yeah, have you?"
"I did it yesterday with Rebecca." I nodded as we walked through the hallways. It was just so hot. Stupid Georgia humidity and sun. I had been in school for twenty minutes and I was already sweating like crazy.
"Want to go to Mr. Delvroy's room?" Wes asked, since he had his own air conditioner. I nodded and he let us come in and sit down for a little bit.
"So, how's Parker?" Wes asked.
"He's recovering. The poor kid cried all day on Sunday before the surgery. He's got so much plaster on him that you can barely see him."
"Man, I feel bad for them. I mean, nothing seems to be going right for the whole family," Wes ran his hands through his hair.
"Yeah, and now Morgan is postponing her trip to France. She's sad about it, but she wants to make sure that Parker is okay before she leaves."
"Does that mean you're going to ask her to go with you to the festival, then?"
"I mean, I want to. I think she'll love it, at least I hope she will."
"There's no harm in asking," he offered. I nodded. There was this music festival that my parents had been taking me to ever since I was born. It was in their hometown, and we always slept at my great aunt's house, because it was huge. Apparently she was rich, or at least close to it.
"Is she even coming to school today?" Wes asked.
"Yeah, she said she'd be late because she and Mallory went to the hospital to have breakfast with Parker."
"Well then you can ask her at lunch," he winked at me before looking down at his phone.
"Look at your phone," Wes said through laughter.
I took it out only to see 13 messages from Ray and John.
R: HELP!!!!
R: HE PUT ME IN MY LOCKER!
R: HE WANTS ME TO DIE
R: Fine I get it.
R: You guys were in on it weren't you?
R: TELL KAREN I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE HER
R: REALLY?
R: Really guys?
R: I see how it is.
J: Stop being over dramatic and just open the door
R: I can't
J: Yes you can.
R: Oh it's okay guys, I'm fine. You don't have to come get me.
