Chapter 17

Morgan

We ended up seeing a comedy that still had us laughing as we all ate together in the mall's food court after the movie ended. Karen actually sat next to Ray during the movie and she was sitting next to him as she ate her salad from Sally's Salad.

"Oh when he dropped the vase and decided to hide it in the fridge!" Rebecca started snorting as she laughed at a part that she recounted from the movie. Of course she was sitting next to Wes and had sat next to him in the theater.

"I really didn't find it that funny. You guys are easily entertained," Jonathan said as he took a fry out of his McDonald's container.

"No, you're just a dark rain cloud who hates everything," Ray stated simply. Jonathan had insisted on sitting in the chair at the end of the isle, which had been next to Wes. That meant I was in between Seth and Karen.

"This is true," John leaned back in his chair, eating another fry.

"Well I thought it was hilarious," Seth said.

"That's because you are a sunny white cloud," Ray stated happily. Karen and I started cracking up because Ray sounded like a kindergartener.

"What about you girls, what did you think?" Wes asked.

"I agree with Seth, it was hilarious," I answered.

"Of course you agree with Seth," Karen said quietly to me while elbowing me in the side before she answered his question. "It was funny," was her answer.

"And obviously I thought it was the funniest thing I've seen in years," Rebecca told him while I glared at Karen. She just smirked at me.

"Okay I have to pee, anyone else?" Karen announced.

"We really didn't need to hear that," Jonathan stated as he ate another fry.

"I do," I answered and got up to go to the bathroom with Karen. When we came back I saw that Mae Harrell was in my seat with her arm draped over Seth's shoulder. I rolled my eyes since this was the fourth guy I'd seen her doing that too this week.

"What is she doing?" Karen asked, sounding offended.

"Trying to seduce him is my guess," I replied calmly. Karen shot me a sideways glance as we walked back to the table.

"You're remarkably unaffected by this," she pointed out. I shrugged as we approached the table. Seth's back was to us meaning Mae's was as well. Jonathan was glaring whole-heartedly at Mae and Rebecca glanced at us warningly.

"Hey girly, you're in my friend's seat," Karen whacked Mae in the arm.

"Karen..." I warned.

"I'm sorry, I don't see her name on it anywhere," Mae replied. Seth looked like he was panicking, which for some odd reason made me feel a little better.
