Chapter 8

Morgan

Mallory took the car to the gym. At five in the morning. And did not come back for me before school started.

“Honestly, you should take away her keys!” I shouted as I ran through he house so as not to miss the bus.

“Morgan I’m sorry but can you please keep it down, Paisley was sick last night and I don’t want her to wake up,” my dad asked.

“Can you please drive me?”

“Again, sorry. I have a meeting in Downy, I would but then I’d be late.”

Okay, see you tonight,” I said with a big sigh as I grabbed an apple and ran out the door to the bus stop. The second I sat down, Garrett sat next to me.

“For God’s sake what could you possibly want?” I snapped at him.

“You,” he smirked at me. I bit off a piece of my apple and spit it in his face. I saw the bus driver grimace in the mirror and then smile. She was so on my side. She probably hated the triplets more than I did since she was the one that had to drive them to school every day.

“What the hell was that for?” He asked.

“Pick it up,” I pointed to the apple piece on the floor and took another bite of my apple, this time swallowing it. Of course, I heard his brothers snickering form behind me. Garrett scowled at me, but didn’t move. I continued to eat my apple. He didn’t pick up the apple piece.

“You’re stubborn, you know that?” Garrett asked me.

“Am I? I didn’t notice,” I said sarcastically. Garrett scowled once more. I finished my apple and dropped the core on his lap.

“You can have that,” I said and put my earphones in to play my music.

“Gross!” He jumped out of his seat and dropped the core.

“Please stay in your seat Garret!” The bus driver yelled sharply. Garrett mocked her and went to go back with his brothers. I pulled a napkin from my backpack and put both the apple piece and core inside it so I could throw it out as I walked into school.

“I’m sorry about them,” I said to the bus driver as I left. She smiled at me.

“So am I, believe me.” I went to my locker and then found Karen as I was walking to class. I explained what happened with Mallory this morning.

“I cannot believe she did that again!” Karen screamed as we walked down the hallway. She was always so loud.

“I can, she’s Mallory.”

“Is she even going to come to school today?”
