Chapter 3 & 4

Chapter 3

~Annabel's POV~ 

As I was walking to the couch a fourth guy walked out. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He was very strong. He was so attractive! Then I recognized him.  

"James." I said breathlessly.  

His eyes became wide like his family member that has been dead for years was alive in front of him.  

"Annabel." He said.  

I ran to him and he picked me up, hugged me and spun me around.  

"James! It's been so long!!" I said still on his arms. "You look... Ah-mazing!" 

"Annabel," he began "your beautiful." 

"We're out, see you later." voiced the blonde boy. I think his name was Kendall.  

They left and shut the door and left James and I alone. We sat down and caught up with each other. We both spoke "I was just thinking about you!" Then we said "really?" 

We both laughed. James finally spoke, his face was serious. "Annabel, do you remember the day I left?"  

I instantly flashed back to the day. 

We were both 18. Standing in front of each other in a crowded airport. James has 2 bags. My eyes are red and puffy from crying. "Don't forget about me, k?" I joked with tears filling my eyes. He hugged me "I couldn't if I tried. I'll call you as soon as I land. If you ever need me don't hesitate to call." He let me go and began to walk away. He turned back around and gave me one last glance. It almost seemed like he wanted to say one last thing. He didn't. He turned around and kept walking. He had slight tears in his eyes but if you asked he'd deny it. 

I came back into reality.  

"Crystal clear." I said  

"It was a horrible day." I continued "I had to get used to my best friend not being right next door when I needed him."  

He laughed. "I wish I could've taken you with me. Leaving you was by far the hardest thing in the world." He replied.  

I completely forgot how sweet and smooth talking James was. I put my hand on his leg. "Well we're together now."  

"Yeah... But about the day I left." He began.

Chapter 4

~James POV~  

My heart was beating so fast. I continued talking "I wanted to tell you this before I left but I knew it'd make it even harder for you to watch me leave so I didn't say it and since your here..." 

"What is it?" Annabel said worried.  

"Uhm I... Uh. Gosh I had practiced this in my head so many times!" I said 

"Just say it" She said.  

"I love you." I whispered. 

I waited for her reaction.  

At first her face was expressionless. Then she smiled. "Aw James." She said. "I love you too. I never realized it until I was thinking about you on my plane ride here."  

My facial expression quickly changed when I heard a knock at the door. "Shit" I whispered. "Go into my room and hide. I have to do something."  

"What?" Annabel said confused.  

"I'll explain later. Just go into my room and stay as silent as you can." I responded pushing her in my room and closing the door.  

I opened the door "hey Halston!" I said cheerfully.  

"Hey babe. What did you want to talk to me about? I'm worried." She responded.  

"Oh about that." He said.  

"Wait first I need to say something." Halston began. "I'm going on a trip to England for 4 years. I think it's be best if we break up... For now at least. " 

I couldn't believe my ears. I was about to break up with her but she made it so much easier. "Oh, that's alright." I said pulling her into one last hug.  

"So what did you want?" She asked.  

I panicked. What do I say? "Uhmmm." Finally it came to me. "I want you to meet my best friend Annabel. She just moved here. We were neighbors for as long as I could remember. "Annabel come on out!" I called.  

Annabel shyly came around the corner of my hallway. "Annabel, this is Halston." I said.  

"Halston?! OMG you are like famous! I can't believe I am meeting you."  

"I'm always happy to meet a fan. Especially as one as close to James. I have to leave though. I need to pack for England. Bye."  

Halston shook Annabel's hand and gave me a hug and left my apartment.
