Jungkook was sitting hunched before his laptop, eyes glazed over the notes on the screen, but not really seeing any of it. His fingers rested limp on the keyboard, his mind replaying Namjoon’s words, his face, the rage he’d felt earlier before leaving his marital home. It ate at him like fire.
Jin, meanwhile, moved around the room quietly, he was trying hard to make their rental place feel a less foreign considering how much of a bad mood his omega brother in law was. He brought out Jungkook’s favorite sheets from home and tucked them neatly into the large bed in the room and even set up a humidifier in the corner so the air carried familiar soft scents Jungkook liked. But, even with all that he didn’t miss how Jungkook’s focus kept drifting from his books to random things
Finally, Jin sat beside him on the chair “Kid.." he said gently “...you’ve got your entire life to waste on dumb alphas. Don’t let one ruin your exams..."
Jungkook’s head snapped up and he scoffed “Of course you’d say that. You got the best one. He’s not out here planning trips with his ex...or working and being all friendly with them. Infact he is moving his entire existence to just try being with you...Your brother can't relate” he crossed his arms , his jaw tightening.
Jin raised a brow looking unbothered by his accusations “My situationship is literally spending all of his time with his ex..” he replied dryly “In fact, Yoongi’s going to be living with his ex for a while ...he is friendly and really close with them... And it doesn’t bother me at all" he shrugged
Jungkook blinked, caught off guard “…That’s different. We don’t have feelings. Neither of us do...Also, I am not his ex!! ”
“Namjoon doesn’t have feelings either and Insu is not is not his ex !!" Jin said simply.
“Don’t...” Jungkook snapped, glaring at the beta “Don’t try to advocate for him. He is at fault here, you know that!!”
“I’m not! I’m just saying…” Jin leaned back against the chair“You think Namjoon gives a damn about anyone easily? He never even glanced twice at an omega until you. Sure, he’s had rut partners before, but it never lasted. The reason he ended things with Insu was because that omega caught feelings. He didn’t want that complication"
“Yeah! And then he went ahead and took him under his wing, working closer. Because that’s such a great idea” Jungkook rolled his eyes
Jin held up a hand, sighing “One thing about Namjoon… he’s dumb sometimes. At that time, he was probably only thinking about what was best for his business. Not… not anything else”
“What about him hiding this from me?” Jungkook’s voice cracked
Jin bit his lips “Kook… just… I get your anger. I’m not dismissing it. All I’m asking is that you concentrate on your work for now. You can get mad at him later. I’ll help you yell at him ... literally ...but just… study for now, please" he begged
