Jungkook was about to serve another scoop of rice into Yoongi's bowl when it emptied, but Namjoon's sharp stare caught him mid-motion. Jungkook froze, his nose twitching as he picked up the displeasure rolling off the alpha's scent. His hand retreated instantly
"Ahh...I...I'll take it myself.." Yoongi chuckled, trying to lighten the air, looking a little sheepish as he scooped his own rice. He avoided Namjoon's eyes, which were trying to burn holes through his skull.
Jin's jaw clenched as he watched the exchange. He set his chopsticks down with a click "I swear, Joon, one day I'm going to turn the hose on you..."
Namjoon looked up, his brows furrowed "What? I didn't even say anything..."
"You don't have to say anything!" Jin shot back "It's enough that you look at him like you want to kill him...it's been weeks. Just give up already!!" He jabbed a finger toward Yoongi.
"I just looked!" Namjoon threw his hands up "What, is this not my house? Am I not allowed to look wherever I want?"
"Are you five? Do you even hear yourself?" Jin's tone sharpened, his eyes narrowing "Here I was thinking maybe you'd finally grow some sense after getting a mate, but apparently all it did was make you lose the last brain cell you had left."
Namjoon blinked, visibly offended by Jin questioning his intellect "Excuse me? I graduated when I was seventeen. I run a global corporation..."
"Yeah, yeah!!" Jin waved his chopsticks dismissively "Kim Namjoon, the great world leader, master of the universe. And yet here you are glaring at people across the dinner table like a toddler who won't share toys "
Yoongi, who was quietly chewing, slipped a hand under the table to squeeze Jin's fingers...like a silent plea to let it go. But Jin wasn't finished talking.
"No, I'm serious..." Jin pressed, leaning forward "You won't even let that kid breathe.." He tilted his head toward Jungkook "Don't go here, don't look there, don't talk to anyone...you are always making stupid rules for him. And meanwhile you do whatever you want..."
Jungkook's chopsticks hovered over his plate, wide eyes darting between them. He wasn't really sure what was happening anymore. He had never really seen Jin this angry or irritated before.
Namjoon stiffened "That's not fair. I'm just..."
"Protective?" Jin cut in, voice dripping with scorn. "Obsessive is more like it. Have you even apologized to him? For the way you have been acting these past few days?"
Namjoon frowned, feeling more defensive "What do you mean? I didn't do anything..."
"Exactly!!" Jin's voice cracked "You have been living at the office, ignoring his calls, barely talking to him. Do you even remember he's your mate, or should I print it out, laminate it and tape it to your stupid work desk that you are apparently married to?"
