4. Fate's Design

The cold air swept through the open car windows, sending Namjoon's silver hair fluttering in the breeze. . He stared blankly ahead, lost in thought, exhaustion weighing heavily on him. The bonding had taken more out of him than he expected, leaving him drained physically and emotionally. His chest felt incredibly tight, but it wasn't just the fatigue-it was the memory of those big doe eyes. There was something enigmatic behind those eyes, something Namjoon couldn't quite grasp and the thought of it tugged at him. He couldn't forget the way the beautiful omega had looked at him, almost as if searching for answers he wasn't sure he had.

He knew their bond was more than just fate-it was a connection he would have to understand in time.

"What the hell were you doing back there, Joon? That's not how you claim a mate!" Jin's voice cut sharply through his thoughts" There are rules and basic decency in these things!"

He was frustrated, his knuckles whitening around the steering wheel. Jin couldn't contain his anger any longer. What he saw at the Jeon's-the display of dominance he showed back there-it wasn't what Jin had wanted for Jungkook or his family. This wasn't how it should have gone. The poor omega had looked terrified and beaten down and Jin had always feared this might happen when Namjoon finally decided to take a mate. Namjoon sometimes didn't realize how intimidating and overwhelming he can be. And now, with Jungkook being Namjoon's fated mate, the situation was even more complicated. The omega's soul and body would naturally become dependent on Namjoon and with the alpha's harsh attitude, Jin wasn't sure they would have a healthy bond.

"You bulldozed over his family! It was like an insult..." Jin continued, his voice rising. "That's not the way to go."

"I don't need to follow the rules. He is mine! I will claim him with or without their consent!!" Namjoon replied calmly, staring out the window.

"Your mate? Yes. But not your property! " Jin snapped. " Stop talking like a chauvinistic prick! You can't claim him or any omega without their consent!! And you wouldn't have even met him if it wasn't for his brothers. You needed to be more civil to them ! You basically bullied them."he accused

Namjoon scoffed, his tone turning icy. "Deserved! Wasn't it?! They are selling him off, aren't they? Hyung, they contacted me because I have money! If it wasn't me, it would be another alpha. I didn't see one ounce of sentiment in their eyes about their brother. All they care about is saving themselves. And I don't blame them for it...being in financial ruin is hard. But that doesn't mean I have to be nice to people who aren't nice."

Jin let out a frustrated huff, glancing at his younger brother. "Well, You are not very nice either, you basically went there just for their family name!! Namjoon. I get it..you have a problem with the family, but that kid? God, my heart broke seeing his big, sad eyes. He looked so defeated... Please, be kind to him. It's going to be his whole life...and yours too. Don't act like a dick, okay? I can't see him suffering in our home and I won't clean up your mess!"

Namjoon's expression didn't soften, the image of the omega still lingered in his mind...and the things he felt in that short time made his skin prickle. "He is not some sad, poor omega..." Namjoon muttered under his breath.

"What?" Jin asked, confused by the sudden shift in Namjoon's tone.

"Nothing," Namjoon muttered, dismissing the thought. "Just drive, hyungie. We have got a lot of things to do. I need to call Sehun and get all the files on the Jeon family. I only have a few days to sort this out." He spoke as if finalizing the conversation.
