The reception was far grander than Jungkook had ever imagined. Though he realized he should have expected it, considering the number of zeros in the price of his suit and jewelry...an amount that could probably feed an entire country. The entourage Jin had hired to prepare him wasn’t any less extravagant.. he swore he had seen them in magazines and on the internet. Jungkook had never been this done up before. Everything felt surreal, almost cinematic...like he was living out a scene from a movie.

Their lives were simple in one way..not in terms of wealth, but in how Jin and Namjoon lived independently and without unnecessary fuss. But now, as the day arrived, it was different. People were bustling around him...dressing him, shade matching him, prepping his skin like a turkey ready to be roasted, updating him on schedules  and briefing him on etiquette and the guest list. The reality of just how important and influential his alpha was slowly beginning to sink in for Jungkook

Now, standing at one of the most luxurious event venues in the country, nhe felt so out of place. The chandeliers glistened like constellations and even the floral arrangements seemed too extravagant . All the training he had received over the past two days blurred into oblivion, and the guest list he had memorized was forgotten.

The crowd was enormous...larger than anything he had ever seen. As soon as they stepped inside, he felt the weight of countless eyes on them. His heart raced like a galloping horse and he instinctively grabbed Namjoon’s arm, seeking some form of grounding

"Are you okay?" Namjoon asked softly, noticing Jungkook's eyes going impossibly wide and his scent souring faintly with stress

Jungkook nodded, though the gesture didn’t convince Namjoon. A frown tugged at the alpha’s features and his own scent subtly shifted with concern. But he didn’t press further...sensing that Jungkook needed space to collect himself.

A line of people quickly formed to greet them once they were at the floor...industrialists, actor even  idols and others Jungkook had only ever seen in tabloids or magazines. Their faces blurred together as he struggled to keep up. He wasn’t used to this kind of attention and his sheltered upbringing had done little to prepare him for the role of being the spouse of someone so prominent...He had never seen so many people together. Hell,  he hasn't seen many people outside his family actually.

Strangely, advice he had once dismissed from his brothers’ omega mates resurfaced in his mind..Back then, he had brushed it off....being overconfident in his ability to adapt to the situatios. He thought living with 5 nosy and bossy alpha's were enough life experience for him to adjust to anything...but now, he realized how crucial their words had been. He was the omega of a significant man and there were expectations to meet.

While Jungkook wrestled with his nerves, Namjoon seemed completely at ease. He was charming and polite...effortlessly switching between languages while mingling with the crowd. It was second nature to him...He had never seen Namjoon smile before....he even realised his alpha had two beautiful dimples adorning his cheeks...and that he had a beautiful smile. Meanwhile, Jungkook felt like a flustered mess. The entire evening blurred for him...the never ending line of the silver haired Kim family ...other faces, speeches, the grand cake...it all melted into an overwhelming haze. He wanted to go home or at the very least... find a moment to breathe properly without another stranger asking him how his married life is going.
