When Jungkook woke up from his sleep, they had already arrived at his new home. It was late into the night and he blinked groggily trying to shake off the heaviness of his deep sleep. He hadn't even realized how far they had traveled. A soft knock from Jin on the car window drew his attention. He yawned and stepped out of the car and immediately noticed the absence of the familiar nighttime sounds he was used to...the loud chirping of crickets , calls of birds and the animal noises that he had grew up listening to...and in their place was the faint, distant hum of city life.

As he took in his surroundings, his eyes widened even more. They were atop a hill, on what appeared to be an expansive, private property with a stunning view of the city lights below. The beauty of it all took him by surprise and what surprised him more was the modern home in front of him..its soft, glowing lights casting a welcoming warmth against the dark night sky. It was a large house...far grander than any typical residence he had seen, yet smaller than the Jeon family estate where he had grown up. The property extended with a vast lawn and several buildings in the distance, which looked like they were part of the house..He noticed that there was no flower garden there , like the one Haeun kept at his home

He had genuinely expected a more traditional setup...maybe an old mansion as the Kims were one of the most renowned packs to ever exist. It all reminded him of just how little he truly knew about his mate and the life he was about to step into.

"The old packhouse is a few miles from here " Namjoon said, noticing Jungkook's curious expression. "It's too big for just the two of us.."

Jungkook looked at the alpha and nodded, trying to digest the new reality. The mention of "just the two of us" lingered in his mind. He had actually expected a crowd to greet them.... considering how Namjoon was a pack alpha and usually there are rituals they do to invite the new luna to their new pack...he expected relatives, pack members..maids...but instead the house stood in silence. The place was empty...and there were really no one there..not even a maid to help them out with the luggage.

He saw Namjoon moving ahead , quietly carrying his luggage up the stairs without a word. Jungkook followed slowly, his eyes wandering over the house's details..it was really minimalistic...all clean lines and simple decor which mostly consisted of paintings . There was no clutter.. nothing extravagant everything seemed carefully placed and purposeful.

"Does he always live alone?" Jungkook asked Jin, who trailed close behind him after making sure that Namjoon had disappeared up the stairs.

"Me and him... yeah!! "Jin replied with a casual shrug. "There are maids who come and go for cleaning and some other tasks around the house. A few security staff too, but that's about it. The rest of the time, it's just him."

"Oh..." Jungkook murmured, absorbing this new reality. He had expected a busy household, like the one he had grown up in. He thought there might at least be a few people there...now he wasn't sure how he would feel being alone after living in a loud and lively household all his life.

"You thought there'd be a lot of people huh? Like back at your family's estate?" Jin asked, catching the hint of disappointment and loneliness flickering in Jungkook's expression.

Jungkook nodded slowly.

"Namjoon prefers his space,...his solitude and a lot of quiet!! " Jin said gently

"Hmm..." Jungkook replied

"But don't worry...there's a gathering planned in a few days " Jin added with a reassuring smile. "You'll meet the pack and some of Namjoon's business acquaintances..."
