"You look good in my jersey." Stephan says as I step out of my closet.
"It's a one time thing." I say making a knot in the side so it becomes a little tighter.
"Have you always had the number 22?" I ask looking at the back of the jersey in the mirror.
"Yea, it's uncle Luke's old number, he's the one that taught me everything with my dad." He says shrugging.
"Why not your dad's old number?"
"I already got his last name on my jersey."
"So you go for my dad's number?" I ask laughing walking up to him. He's sitting at the edge of my bed just looking at me.
"Yes, it's my lucky number." Stephan says putting his hands around my hips pulling me inbetween his legs.
"Okay."
"Why all the questions?" He asks giving me a kiss on my shoulder.
"Just curious. My house number in Amsterdam was 22."
"See, lucky."
"Why?"
"Look at you. What's your lucky number?"
"8."
"Why 8?"
"I don't know, born on August 8, so 8-8 got a few eights in my birthdate so I just went with 8."
"See, everyone had a lucky number."
"We need to go if you want to be on time for your game." I say looking at my watch.
"You sure you want to go in just a jersey?"
"I got my jacket." I say.
"You're going to catch a cold."
"I'll put on a long sleeve." I mumble going back to my closet. I grab one of my sports shirts with long sleeves that go over my hands with a hole for my tumbs. I take the jersey off and put the shirt on and put the jersey back. I get back to Stephan and he's already waiting for me at my door.
"Let's go." He says. I nod, grab my bag, phone and jacket and walk up to him.
~~~
"Look at that smug face." I mumble looking at Madison that stands in my spot on the team.
"It's just one game." Dad says.
"I'm now watching a game I don't know. I got no idea what is happening, just that Stephan is throwing a ball to Kol who runs fast and far." I say annoyed.
"Just watch, you dont have to understand it to enjoy it." He says laughing.
"It would help to enioy it."
"How's your rib doing?"
"It's a nice bruise. Doesn't hurt as bad as long as I'm not toutching it." I say.
"Good. By the way, mom is really excited to meet you all." He says.
"We are too. I'm just pretty stressed about it." I say.
"I get that. Did you have plans with Stephan for Christmas?"
"We haven't made any plans yet. I want to spend Christmas Eve with my family at least. I don't know what he wants to do."
"You guys didn't talk about Christmas?"
"No, it never really got to be a subject we talked about. I did tell him I'm going to Miami at the end of the week."
"Did he want to come with?"
"Why? So grandma can meet het 5 "new" grandkids and a boyfriend of one of them at the same time?"
