Castiel's POV

Dean shoved his Letterman to Cas, but Castiel pushedbit back to him with a smile. "Its too cool outside. You have to wear a jacket." He said.

"Thanks mom." Dean teased leaning over and kissing Cas. Castiel climbed out o the car, smiled back at Dean and waved. Dean waved back. Cas made it to the porch but then he stopped and turned around. The sky was turning pink above them with the early rise of dawn. He leaned down to Dean's window.

"What's up? Are you okay?" Dean asked.

Cas nodded and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "You never answered me."

"What?"

"You didn't answer my question. Will you go to prom with me?"

Dean blushed and beamed at him. "Yeah, Cas. I'll be your date."

Castiel grinned, "I love you." He said tapping his fingers on the door. "I'll go now."

"Okay. I love you, too, Angel." Dean answered. Cas nodded and started back to the house.

He jiggled the door knob a bit and then pulled it open easily. He waved at Dean again and Dean laughed and waved back. Cas smiled as he slipped into the house and shut the door softly behind him. He leaned against the oak and sighed happily as he went for the staircase slowly and quietly.

"Castiel?" A sickly sweet voice called from the kitchen. Cas stopped in his tracks when his eyes focused on the woman standing by the coffee pot. She was frowning, but basked in the pale sunlight, her hazel eyes were soft and twinkling. She wore a too long button up shirt that Cas faintly remembered his father wearing to church once. As she poured herself a steaming mug of caffeine, she said, "I... I don't know if you remember me, but--"

"What are you doing here, Maggie? He looked to the staircase. "You have to go before Gabe and Luci get up, before Alfie sees you." He took a step forward and then shook his head. "You have to leave."

"Where have you been?" She asked tucking hair behind her ear and walking over to him. She sipped her coffee and then waited for Cas to answer.

"I should be asking you that, don't you think?" He spat.

"Cassie--" She began.

"Don't." Cas cut in glaring at her.

"I didn't think you missed me that much." She finished as if she hadn't been interrupted. She took another sip, one eyebrow raised.

"It doesn't matter what I felt. You abandoned your children." Cas grumbled.

"Were you with your boyfriend?" She asked, her mouth twisting painfully when he mentioned her leaving.

"Were you?" He fought.

She clenched her teeth. "You've become defiant." She muttered.

"That tends to happen when you raise yourself." He replied harshly.

"Go to your room." She commanded raising a pink painted fingernail to the stairs.

Cas smiled ruefully back at her, "Get out of my house." She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. She turned around.

"We'll talk when you get home from school." She said opening Chuck's bedroom door.

"Don't count on it." He said going up the stairs and into his room.

He closed the door carefully and sat down on his bed running his fingers through his hair. He sighed and then smiled when he thought of Dean's lips pressed to every inch of his skin. He started with the buttons of his shirt, and then discarded it on the floor by the closet. He pulled down a white button down and then kicked on some black pants. He put on a striped tie and a black blazer, and then he sighed.
