The argument took all morning in order to finally reach a compromise with my followers of having one assigned servant per morning on a rotational system. I hadn't seen Sarah since yesterday but was hoping to spend some time together during lunch. I learned of her mother's name thanks to my current servant Beatrice. She had explained Sarah had been assigned in working to upkeep the temple while her mother Sandra did her duties of leading the mass. The town was isolated from much of the known empires in this world and the normal passerby wouldn't have ever heard of it. I was surprised by this new information considering how many people seem to live here.

"So, then does no one ever leave to other places?" I asked suddenly worried my fanatic group might actually be a cult.

"People may choose to leave, however most don't due to the tyrannical reign of the current sovereign." I raised a brow.

"Our community are refugees having fled since our teachings and faith are persecuted by the kingdom. We live by your existence while they follow the new king's god who we believe to be a false prophet." I was shocked and slightly embarrassed to have arrogantly assumed I was the only divinity to exist besides my husband.

"Are they really a false prophet is it not maybe my husband they follow?" She only shook her head.

"The kingdom did once indeed follow him, but after many years of being without an apostle of their own and no news of contact his influence had weakened. The only pillar left to rule was the monarchy which became a massacre as a new king ascended the throne not of either faith but of a new one claiming the old gods had abandoned us..." She paused as if lost in thought than lit back up again.

"However, we never lost hope or faith your majesty! We knew you would one day intervene once again just like in the legends of past and every time we performed the ceremonial rituals you were always there to give an answer. " I listened incredulously wondering when other than with Sarah did I ever previously intervened. I remembered helping multiple people through the book could it be that I had previously made trips to this realm multiple times not with just Sandra and Sarah?

Beatrice stayed quiet as if waiting for some reaction to the news. I was unsure how to continue this serious topic of conversation when I felt a pressure suddenly hit my head.

"Ahh!" I pressed my lips together in a hiss to stop from screaming as the pinprick sensation continued its onslaught.

"Your grace! What's the matter?" Beatrice wasn't sure what to do so I told her to call for Sarah. I didn't think there was anything anyone could do since I wasn't sure what was happening, but the little girl's comfort sounded nice right about now.

Servants came rushing forward to help support me back to my room as Beatrice left to find I assume the priestess and Sarah. Lune kept pacing while I lay in bed trying to block out and force away the pain using magic.

'It can only be Amias doing if anything else, I should've known he would be up to something though to only give me a days' worth of time was ridiculous.'

Just the thought of possibly giving him some payback gave me the mental energy to strike back and indeed it did. I smiled in triumph as I felt something clash with my magic. Shortly after Sandra with Sarah in tow burst into the room with the nervous onlookers outside not daring to enter.

"Your majesty what has happened?" The priestess seemed frightened.

"I'm alright just something unpleasant-" I blacked out mid-sentence.

" Eveyln!" Amias was holding me in his arms when I opened my eyes in the dream. Seeing his face flared the flames of my anger from the attack just now.

"I can't believe you!" I yelled then viciously shoved him away. He flew back getting embedded into the wall.

"Gah, what do you mean?" He tried to regain his composure, but I ran at him and charged through the wall with our bodies colliding.

"Stop, enough!" He shouted and used his power to hold me in place.

"What's going on here?" He asked, expression one of confusion and annoyance.

"What do you mean what's going on? You're the one who's impatient to suddenly attack me just because I wasn't answering you soon enough!" I was breathing heavily from the grappling wanting to get at least one hit in the face to feel some satisfaction.

"Evelyn, I never attacked you I could never harm you; I love you!"

"Lies! You've already hurt me plenty you, think I'm going to listen to you again as you try to soothe things over with just words alone? Hah!" I laughed sardonically at the bastard.

"I don't know what's going on just explain to me how you came here wounded." His voice was cold and the chilly expression on his face left no room for doubt that it wasn't him.

"I felt something earlier a pressure that turned into pain and I thought the assault had come from you. After I retaliated, I lost consciousness and found myself back here with you." I kept my eyes on his face seeing it transition into a darker lethal look. His hold over me released and I dropped like a sack of rocks.

"Oomph!"

He started walking back down a corridor, so I followed behind wanting to find out what he was planning to do.

'If he didn't do it what was that then?'

The hallway opened into the atrium of the garden where that book was usually on the altar. He stepped up and called over a light orb.

"Show me what happened." The book floated and the orb glowed into a blinding light that drowned us into the moment between time. He grabbed my hand, pulling me close by his side which I didn't deny since I needed him to see what exactly was going on.

"Don't worry my love were about to see exactly what cretin is foolish enough to challenge it's masters."
