So much had happened today that I felt mentally exhausted, this was the first time I actually wanted to sleep. I didn't actually need sleep before which I learned over time from being with Amias, we were immortal sleep was only to pass time out of boredom however to me it was my vice to escape my reality. Now things were different it seemed like my physical body was responding to this new realm and adapting. I could actually feel my body's need for of respite; the new sensations made me smile. This was another welcomed difference to my once numb repetitive world. I was pulled out of my reverie by a commotion from out in the corridor.
"What is it doing?" The voices were muffled from the doors as I approached to see what was going on.
"I am not sure but keep it from going inside!" I opened the door not sure I was really processing what I see. The mare I rode on was even larger than before and trying to force its way into the building.
"Do you need assistance?" I asked still unsure if I was seeing correctly.
"Your majesty!" The servants exclaimed in surprise and quickly dropped the reigns of the horse to bow down.
I cringed inwardly at the gesture not accustomed to their ways of worship.
"We beg your pardon your grace, but the horse had escaped from its stable and made its way to your chamber. We are not sure ourselves what is happening, but please allow our humble selves to take care of this-" I cut in trying to stop the laughter from slipping between my lips.
"No need let me help since it appears to want be searching for my presence anyways." I stepped toward the now docile hefty mare noticing it beginning to thrum with energy. I was no expert when it came to animals, but yet it felt like second nature to approach it just like when I rode it's back.
'Is this another talent from my powers?'
I smiled bemused by the thought of more undiscovered hidden talents I might have. I thought I had known all of my new abilities since being with him, but I guess not.
I lay my hand slowly and gently stroking her head as she pressed against me. The servants stayed quiet as if expecting something to happen. They were proven to be right once again. The muzzle of the animal began to shimmer from where may hands touched and then the light spread all along its entirety. Everyone gasped as we watched in amazement as another strange occurrence was developing. The light blinded us momentarily as it expanded then shrunk into a smaller silhouette. The mount had transformed into what looked like a dwarf pony, no bigger than a stray dog.
The white little horse trotted right up to me and nuzzled against my legs almost knocking me over. I braced myself against its neck to steady myself laughing from the sheer shock of this new surprise. Lune seemed to have a change personality from the calm mare I met before. Now this new version of a pony is playful and considerably more affectionate.
"Shall we take her back to the stable for you your majesty?"
"No, it's fine now that she is smaller, I'll just have her stay with me since it seems she would prefer it that way."
"As you wish it." They all bowed down in unison, helping us along back down the corridor.
I had extra bedding and cushions brought in for Lune to sleep on so she could be more comfortable though I wasn't she if she would exactly use it.
'I've never had a horse or pony before; do they even lay down when they sleep?'
My query was answered as she hobbled atop and stomped to make a nest and folded in her legs.
"Guess that answers it." I smiled then yawned.
I could only assume my magic must've been trying to replenish causing the need for sleep. I bid Lune sweet dreams as my lids fluttered closed.
I could feel someone beginning to touch me in my dreams, I knew this sensation. My eyes searched for what I was hoping wouldn't be him only to be wrong. Amias was beside me stroking my hair his fingers grazing my face. I didn't want to see him, but a part of me was relieved if only in my dreams. Tears filled my eyes, and he embraced me into a tight hug.
"Why, did you have to lie to me. How come you couldn't just be honest with me; I submitted like you wanted and listened to you. I only had you." I pleaded into his chest as he held me tighter.
"I'm sorry" was all I could hear him murmur.
'Could I still forgive you?'
This thought was plaguing me all this time after arriving in a new world.
I curled farther into his body trying to melt into him never wanting to be apart again, but I knew logically it would not be possible. I still held so much resentment for everything he had done to me, yet I couldn't help to still love this man all the same.
"Come back to me Evelyn please, I need you with me."
"I don't even know if I can be with you anymore. You took away everything from me my family, my world even my very breath." I could feel the wetness from his own tears, though I wouldn't dare pull back to see. I knew deep down he may never change and that I may stay trapped again with him forever.
"I need time alone to think." I tried not to falter in my words needing to reevaluate where things stood.
He suddenly pulled and gripped me by my arms tensely, anger evident in his usually stoic features.
"How is it time alone when you are entertaining other lower lifeforms! You are failing to uphold your duties as my mate!" His shouting was frightening me, I knew he could turn violent at any moment, but this was only supposed to be a dream. I tried to wake up.
"You may think this is a dream, but just know I am always watching you and if you decide to take too long you never know what may happen to those in that realm because of you."
My eyes finally snapped awake as shot up gasping for air I didn't need. His words lingering in my mind at the blatant threat.
