Jack
I packed up Sky and Kaden's bags, helping them fix up their mess.
"Remember, you'll never know when you'll leave. Always-" "Put them away in case of an emergency." They both finished, making me shake my head, chuckling.
"Exactly. Or you leave your toys behind and won't be able to get new ones." I told them, and zipped up their bags.
Even though they only have a few toys, I'm not sure if they'll leave when they leave them behind.
"But, you guys also have to grow up. You don't need your toys to survive. Trust me. Once you let go, it won't be easy to forget but it'll be one less thing to worry about." I told them and they nodded.
"But I'm keeping my horsie!" Sky protested, hugging it tightly to her chest.
She stuffed it in her bag and proudly zipped it up.
"And I'm keeping Mr. Chocolate Chip!" Kaden added, putting a golden brown teddy in her bag, closing it up and putting her bag on her back.
Somehow she always carried it with her, she never wanted to leave her stuff behind - she was starting to figure out how we work.
"C'mon, let's go. We're gonna look for the others." I smiled, and they nodded.
Sky grabbed her bag and left the room with Kaden, leaving me behind to pick up some valuable things.
Water bottles, bandages, chips, mints, mini-flashlight, and Emely's sacred blanket...
I put them in my bag and left the room, closing the door behind me before I jogged down the steps.
"Ready... Let's go." I told Em, and she got off the couch.
"Hayes is outside waiting for us." Em told me, and I nodded.
"You and Hayes alright? That argument-" "We talked it over, it was just a fuss. Nothing major. C'mon, let's go." Em quickly said, going towards the front door.
I followed behind and closed the door, locking it with the key we found inside.
"Where are we gonna start?" Em asked, and I shrugged.
"Anywhere helpful. Probably back at my place." Hayes told us, and we agreed.
'Soon, we'll find you.'
Nash
Carter, Bree, Shawn and I have been in the house for days now. We've basically given up...
Well they have... They just won't let me go alone.
"It's either all of us or just me." I tell them and I start getting ready.
"But I don't care what you guys say. Join me now or see me never." I tell them, and grab my pistol, gripping it tightly.
"I'm not letting you leave." Shawn said, "especially not without me. Cause I need to find the rest of my friends, too. I need to know they're ok." He added, and I smiled.
"We're both coming as well." Bree interrupted. "We were never gonna stay anyways." Carter laughed, and Bree nodded.
"C'mon. I'm not waiting any longer. We're leaving. Now." I paused, and looked around at our little setup. " I can't spend another hour in this house..."
