Meri

Everyone was... Actually happy.

Everything was, normal.... If you can say that.

We all played and acted like a family. A "normal" family; acting like nothing ever happened.

Wishing ALL the things we experienced, never happened; wishing all the friends and family we lost, were still here, laughing along side with us; wishing all the things we saw, were never seen; wishing all the bad things we've done, were gone and never happened.

But that can't happen.

Once you've seen something, you can't just un-see it and act like you've never seen it; you can't hear something and act like you've never heard it; you can't do something and act like you've never done it...

I wish I can do that, I wish Mary can do that! But she can't! Cause she's not here anymore!

I don't want to be here anymore...

I don't want to fight anymore. I don't want to stay inside. I want to wander the empty dark streets, taking in the smell of blooming flowers. Seeing the glare of the street lights shine on the street as I walk.

I'm gonna do it... And no one. Is going to stop me.

Carter

I kept on tossing and turning, my body was tense; stiff; rock-solid.

I quietly groaned and sat up, running my fingers through my hair. I huffed and rubbed my eyes.

I got up off my mattress and went downstairs. I jogged over to the counter and sat on top of it. I slowly and gently laid my body on the counter, sighing.

I stared up at the ceiling and took in deep breaths. I slowly started to drift off to sleep till I heard a sound of a door opening and closing from upstairs.

My body started to get stiff and I quickly closed my eyes. Trying to make it look like I wasn't constipated...

My breathing became stiff as well when I heard light steps coming down the steps.

I heard the footsteps come closer and I felt a tiny hand on my forehead.

"Carter you idiot." Her soft accent spoke. A short silence took over for a few seconds.

"I'll miss you the most though. You're the one that took care of me when my mom left. I love you Carter. Don't forget about me. I left you guys some notes in the bedroom. Good luck. I don't want to see you on the other side.... Not yet at least. I want to see you here, fighting. Just like how you guys are fighting now. " Merida softly said, and kissed my forehead.

I laid there, stiff as a board.

I felt her hand leave my touch and I shivered. I heard the sound of her footsteps get lower and a door opened and lightly closed shut...

I quickly sat up and became light-headed. I almost fell off the counter but regained my balance once my feet touched the floor. I ran over to the door and tried to open it but it wouldn't budge.

I went over to the windows and pushed the curtains to the side.

I looked through and saw there was a rope tied on the door-knob and the other end was tied to a part of the porch. I banged on the windows yelling her name.

She looked back and waved goodbye, before blowing a kiss before vanishing off into the dark. I went over to the door and rammed my body into it, trying to make the door loosen up. It didn't work.
