Today was the day. Today I would be meeting the Cullens. Well okay, just meeting two more Cullens, but I would be going over to their house and I was a basket of nerves.

I woke up knowing it was the day. I don’t know why I’m so nervous. It’s not like I need the family to accept me like Bella, although I wish that were the case. I still wanted to be accepted though by the other two, assuming I was accepted by the other five.

I hadn’t bothered the night before looking for some decent clothing, I’m sure I owned some somewhere. I pulled out boxes I hadn’t bothered to unpack since I’ve been here and searched through them. Some of these clothes I’m sure don’t fit me anymore.

My choices were pretty slim. I either had dressy or just casual, no in betweens. I had narrowed it down to three choices: a white skirt with a polka dot top, a simple black dress, or jeans with a nice shirt, that I had yet to pick out. Next on the list was shoes. I had many shoes, my favorite being a black and white pair of spectator heels, but I was not chancing heels on a night such as this. Edward and Emmett would have a field day.

So final decision: Jeans with a nice shirt and some pair of flats. Why? Well to be honest, I don’t feel like dressing up and this is as close as I’ll get.

The rest of the day was spent lounging and counting down the hours. I watched the movie Anchors Aweigh, tapping along with Gene Kelly. This amused me for a few hours, and the next thing I know, it was time to get ready.

I was nervous and indecisive at the moment. Make up, no make up? This outfit, or not this outfit? Hair up or down? I went natural for the most part. A little eyeliner, and my hair was down. Actually, I don’t think I looked any different from when I go to school. So much for freaking out about wardrobe.

6:30. I should probably leave. It’ll give myself plenty of time to find this place. Grabbing the keys, and saying a quick goodbye, I went out to the car, almost skipping. I was going to see the Cullens.

6:50. These directions are crap. Bella obviously has no sense of direction.

6:58. Oh, here it is. Driving up the driveway, the house hadn’t come into view, until the end. These people obviously had money. The house was huge and the yard perfect. I shouldn’t have expected anything less.

7:01. I was texting Bella when I saw a pair of headlights show up behind me. When looking closer, saw that they belonged to a Volvo, and Bella thought I’d be late.

I got out of my car to go meet the happy couple. Bella stepped out of the car. She obviously put more time into her outfit than I did.

“You’re late.” I said, mainly to Edward.

“You’re early.” he retorted.

I followed Edward and Bella to the house. I felt slightly awkward, as they were together and I was kind of a loner. He opened the door and as soon as I stepped in, Dr. Cullen and I assume the woman was Esme Cullen were in front of the stairs. Edward introduced Bella and I to Dr. Cullen and Esme.

“Hello, Dr. Cullen.” I said.

“Hello Brighton, please, call me Carlisle.” he said.

“OK then Carlisle.”

I then turned to Esme and said, “Hello, Mrs. Cullen, thank you for having me this evening.”
