Leaving the airport and seeing the city made me feel like I am in a different world, even without magic. During the taxi drive, I kept pressing face against the window, staring at people and guessing who might be a descendant. The coldness of the glass was balanced by the warmth of a wolf fur on my lap. Woreus had to transform as soon as we landed, and now we are pretending he is my pet in front of the driver. Wether he is only pretending or actually is sleeping, I can't tell. I don't want to disturb him, so I remain quiet the whole ride. Just having my brother with me, no matter the form, somehow calms down the jitters.

Since I don't have any outside apartment here, we went strsight to the academy and I will live at the dorm for now. Even though I want to have at least one person I know at school to spend time with, I am hoping to land a solo room. I have no idea how their systems works and I guess I shouldn't be expecting the same treatment I got at Umbras. Maybe I should have signed myself as an Odin descendant?! My pondering didn't last long, since the car stopped and Professor Kai informed me we have arrived.

Woreus jumps out without me nudging him to wake up and I send down teasingly through the bond that I knew wasn't really sleeping. He bumps into my side slightly, but enough to make me loose balance. Stumbling around, I stabilize myself and go take out my luggage.

I thought I will have to drag it on my own, since Woreus had to transform, but when I look at the back of the car, the trunk is already opened. The professor is paying the fare and talking to the driver, so it's not him. Even though there is nothing much of a value, I am still worried about my stuff.

My jaw drops and I am speechless to see Roven getting the bags out, ready to carry them inside. He greets me, welcoming me to the Sgaard academy with this official.sounding rehearsed line. It makes me snort, but I still feel weird to talk to him, especially after he ignored us when we won the competition. Since he seemed he wants nothing to do with me back then, I quickly reach to take the bags from him.

Roven: I got it.

Me: Oh, so you can speak!

Roven: Why wouldn't I?

Me: you left after the match.

Roven: I was just... tired from transforming multiple times.

Me: And here I thought I gained an invisibility power.

The awkwardness got better throughout this conversation, but I still said the last sentence with sarcasm. Roven didn't seem to mind my snarky tone, looked a bit like guilt is eating him up though. To assure him I am not holding any grudge, I just give Roven an all good as I steal my backpack from his shoulder.

The plan was to quickly go into my room and hind until I have to attend classes. It all crumbled when I finally spotter the academy. My legs got glued to the pavement like it was freshly made and instantly dried up. A black giant of a building is standing tall in front of me. Creepy doesn't cover the feeling I am getting from it. The academy looks more like a rich-people military base rather than a school.

Something felt off since the moment I got out of the car, and I realized only now how quiet it is here. There is only the academy surrounded by a vast forest. The only seemingly alive thing at this place is the fog that is dancing between the trees.

Roven: Enjoying the sun? You're lucky to catch such a nice day, Usually all we get is full fog and depressing cloudy sky.

Me: I was only looking around. In my mind, I had pictures some old building that would scream "magic" at me.

Roven: It isn't as fancy as Umbras, but we have some cool stuff around.

Me: Not fancy you say?
