Professor Defer was surprised to see me, even more to hear I will be studying at Aveus again. Guess not everyone got the memo. She happily agreed to the class swap, not that she could refuse it anyway, and referred me to some Professor Kaan, who is supposed ot be the teacher for Electricity Manifestation Controlling. Luckily, his office is just two doors aways from Professor Defer's. She told me he is not teaching at the moment, but he could have left already. I took my chances, because I don't want to just show up unannounced mid class.
Knocking on the door, I wait for an answer and I am immediately calle din. I peek slowly through the slit and greet the professor. He is busy cleaning up the desk, probably to go home early. Not wanting to bother much, I go straight into what I am doing here and explain the situation as best as I can. Professor Kaan is stacking papers, reading them and sorting onto piles, so he doesn't look at me. He just nods and says I can show up if I want to. I thank him and start to walk aways, when the rustling of papers stops.
Professor Kaan: Did you say you are a demigod descendant?
Me: Yes, sir. I've been temporarily placed at Aveus, but I don't want to get out of touch with my powers, so I would like to practice in your class, maybe learn something more.
Professor Kaan: Which god?
Me: Zeus.
Professor Kaan: I see. You have the same main power domain as electricity, but I don't think the classroom is accustomed to your needs.
Me: I can lower the voltage for casual usage.
Professor Kaan was still skeptical about it. I decided to show him my powers from the magical half to prove him I can work in his class. He dropped everything on the desk and walked up to me. Crossing one arm across his chest and placing the other one under his chin, he checks out the electricity flowing around my hands. Saying "interesting" multiple times, Professor Kaan circles me like a vulture.
I pull back my powers and his trance is over. Instead, he summons his own electricity and asks me to transfer it to myself.. I tell him I don't know how and he stops channeling. Professor Kaan only nods and returns to his cleaning, telling me I can attend his lessons.
This was the only thing to do on my list, but I did start to feel a bit hungry. Next stop is the cafeteria and then I'll just rot in the room. I did shopping for food so fast, this has to be my record. I grabbed what I wanted, was in and out under five minutes. I was thinking about borrowing a book from the library, but I am not in a mood for extra studying so I passed on that idea.
Climbing the stairs while munching on a croissant, I get greeted by a familiar voice. Professor Nannieya is surprised as all of my former teachers who saw me, and asks me what I am doing here, mostly because of the ban. I give her the cliffnote version of what happened and her face lights up immediately when she hears I'll be attending her lessons again. She offers me to work in the greenhouse as well as asks me if I'll be interested in performing the KhautaSilvera again. Before I can even answer, she smacks her check gently, calling herself sumb, because she just asked a demigod to do a spell. My throat closed up, stomach clenched and flipped over like hundred times. I feel like I am going to throw up, after Professor Nannieya realizes I was able to summon the lily and wondered how it is possible out loud. My legs became weak and I have to lean against the railing for support.
Professor Nannieya: Ah, must be the Noion gene still active back then. It is such a shame you matured into a demigod instead of a magician. That line has been forgotten almost. Having someone with the power of old families could have helped us discover new spells. Excuse this grandma and her memory. I still hope to see you in class, Kaitlin.
