Because I am not able to tear eyes off the tattoo, I don't hear half of the stuff Roven is telling me about. He noticed my non-present mind and said we should wrap up the day. I do feel a bit tired, so I don't protest against the idea of going back to my room and do absolutely nothing.

Finally having some time for myself, I drop on the bed as soon as I see it. I barely had a good look around the room, which is pretty basic, but has everything I need. The bed is your casual one – made out of dark wood planks, pretty ordinary and probably purchased at a local store. The matrace is a hard block, but I don't care about it right now. Still dressed, wrist itchying under the foil, I lie on the bed and stare at the ceiling, processing everything that has happened recently.

I get scared and summon my powers when I hear something move around, completely forgetting Woreus stayed in the room. He was stuck here the whole time, and I doubt he transformed into the human form to just go roam around, realizing he must be starving. Apologizing for taking so long, I get up and offer to go buy something to eat.

Sgaard's layout is simpler than Umbras and I easily remembered the way to the cafeteria. The only downside is the hallways are way too long, like there is no end to them. At least it's not some bloody stairs though.

Arriving at the cafeteria, my soles are on fire and I have to suppress the wheezing. When I don't look like I am dying anymore, I check how much money I have on me, then go browse the food.

Seeing the selection of meals makes my stomach flip, but also growl at the same time. It all looks delicious and I would buy it all, if it only wasn't meat meat meat. I moved towards another cooling box and to no surprise there, more meat. Letting out a loud long sigh, I take the rib eye steak for Woreus, then hope I spot something I could get.

A familiar voice speaks up form behind me, pulling me out of my thoughts filled with choosing pork or chicken meals. I don't have to turn to know who it is. Same jealousy-laced tones like the ones I used to get from Saxa, I will have to endure that from Synne here.

Synne: Not by your standards?

Me: I'll manage.

Synne's friend: I heard what special treatment she got before. I give it a day before she breaks down crying and goes beg the principal to let her go home.

Me: No idea what you heard, but don't base an opinion on someone before actually getting to know them.

Synne's friend: Cry as much as you want, but you should forget the princess treatment you had. Here, you have to follow the orders and do the hard work, not crumble when your nail breaks.

Synne: I doubt they will go out their way to accommodate just a low animal demigod. Would pay to watch her try it though.

Me: Isn't your boyfriend one of those "lowly animal gods" too though? Weird, how you don't mind Roven's bloodline, but hate me for it.

Synne's friend: Roven's not her-

Synne's friend snorts and starts saying something, but Synne gives her one death stare, so she ends up choking on the words. I am too tired to be dealing with some petty jealousy, so I reach for whatever mealbox is the closest behind me without looking and go pay.

Since I wanted to appear tough, showing Synne I don't give a damn about her, I didn't know what I got until it was too late. It would look ridiculous if I went back to choose something else, so now I am staring at a goulash meal. The thick soup doesn't look twice appetizing, but it smells delicious. Still, I don't feel like eating a tough rubbery meat. After stabbing the stubborn chunk of a boar, I toss the spoon into the plastic bowl and push it towards Woreus.
