Hate? or Mate?

Chapter four.

I left the hospital three days ago. My party is tomorrow. I'm freaked out, I am going to find my mate at midnight.

Kalleen is over at my house helping me set up decorations.
My house is pretty big, especially the back yard.

We were hanging up streamers and balloons.
"This is going to be fun. Stop worrying" kalleen hit me with a balloon.

"Yea, says you. I'm going to find the person I spend the rest of my life with. No biggy right?" I said sarcastically.

"Not for me." She stuck her tongue out at me.

"My dress is so cute. Thanks for shopping with me." My stomach was sore but didn't hurt.

"Of course babes, you my best friend. Imma shop with you till the die I die. Then you can shop alone" I laughed.

"Nah, I'll take your churn with me whenever I go shopping. I'll talk to you and everything" she laughed.

"I see you doing that" irolled my eyes.

"Mack, when you find your mate, will we still be besties" she looked at the streamer and started messing with it.

"Of course. You'll be my best is till we die. Promise" I bumped her shoulder.

"Good" she laughed.

"I'll go get the lights." I walked inside and grabbed the target bag and pulled out fairy lights and lights in a balloon thing.

"Kalleen, help me" she walked over to me and grabbed the fairy lights.

"Aren't these just the cutest things" she laughed.

"Kalleen, you need to be checked. For psycho syndrome" I laughed.

"That's not a thing Mackenzie" kalleen stood on the step ladder.

"It is now" I handed her a balloon light.

"We should be scientist. Just to make up stupid shit, people believe everything scientists say" Kalleen said hanging up the light.

"That's not how it works" kalleen and I looked behind us and saw josh.

"Hey josh" I said. Kalleen wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"I'll shoot you" I scolded her. She scoffed and motioned for me to give her another light.

"You wouldn't survive without me" she said.

"Oh yea" I kicked the stepladder and as she fell I grabbed her arm and pulled her so she would land on her feet.

"I think its the other way around" she flipped me off.

"Oh, why are you here." Kalleen asked josh.

"Because I wanna be" he said back.

She rolled her eyes and got back on the step ladder.
"Kal, hang up the other lights. It will look better dumbass" she was holding the fairy lights.

"I'm the dumbass" she questioned.

"Yes, I'm the smart ass and your the dumbass. Duh, that's how this friendship works" I laughed.

"Y'all aren't nice to each other" josh said standing next to me.

"Eh, she loves me and knows it" I looked at kalleen.

"You don't know that" she said hanging the fairy lights.

"Josh make yourself useful, hold this" kalleen gave him the strand of lights.

She taped the lights to the wire we hung up.
"Thanks" she grabbed the lights back.

"Sure, anyway I came by because I wanted to see how you're feeling" josh turned to me.
