Hate? or Mate?

Chapter five.

After the dance josh stood next to me the entire night.
I told him to go hang with friends, he insisted that he wanted to be next to me.

Everyone left at around four in the morning. Josh, Derek, kalleen, and I were cleaning up.

"This is boring" I whined.

"Cry about it" Derek whined back.

"Fuck off Derek" I joked.

"Nah, I'm good" he laughed.

I put the cups in the garbage bag.
"Derek, have you found your mate yet" I asked.

"Nah," he played it off.

"How about you actually look" kalleen said.

"Says the himan" Derek said back.

"She's right though." I looked at him

"Mom and dad said the same thing, that's why I left." He scolded.

"Well, since you left three years ago. They've become worse. You should've taken me with you" I held out my arms.

"Sorry, that they did that to you" I dropped my arms.

"They didn't do anything. It was kale, Rebecca just watched
Didn't say anything. She knew about my rape, and what he did, she just kept to herself. In my book she's just as guilty though" I heard a bottle break when I said rape.

I turned around and josh broke a beer bottle.
"Easy, we already have enough to clean" I joked. "I'm fine. I've moved on. They are going to rot in person, I hope. If not. I shall personally take their throats and feed them to the cats" I said dramatically.

"They are still your mom and dad Mackenzie Jane" Derek said.

"No they aren't. They are your parents. And if the girls still want to call them mom and dad they can do so. But me, I, myself, do not consider them parents Derek Mark, parents don't rape and torture their kids." I started cleaning again.

"They are still your DNA" derje pushed the subject

"Derke, drop it. They can be my DNA and flesh. I don't give a shut, they aren't my parents though." I shrugged.

"Yes they are"

"no they aren't! You weren't here! You left because you couldn't take anymore! You have no idea what happened to me when you were gone! I swear if you had half of what j did you wouldn't want them as parents either!" I shouted at him.

"OK, Mack, let's go for a walk blow off some steam" kalleen said pushing me away from Derek.

"I need a run" a turned and went into the house.

I got out my athletic pants and a sports bra. I wiped off my make up and threw my hair into a ponytail.

I changed outfits and put on my phone case bracelet. I grabbed my headphines and my tennis shoes.

Once I was changed I ran out of the door.
"Mackenzie wait" Derek ran after me.

I picked up speed and put in my headphones. I decided on running the cross country trail.

I started jogging so I could save energy.
Josh has been texting me.

I stopped and texted him back.
Me- I'll be back soon. I'm running the cross country path.

I put my phone back on my bracelet and started running again.

Once I came to the school I stopped to take a breath. I saw josh running toward me.
