Chapter 8

The week flew by with hardly any problems.  Finally it was Friday night and time for my big finale.  I found the dress that drove Dimitri crazy and quickly slipped it on.  I made my hair up all nice and put on enough make-up that I was looking so stunning every guy would be over me.  I didn't bother putting my teeth in when they were just going to be taken out.  I smiled at myself and almost fainted.  I looked like myself again beside the whole fang thing and a tint of red outlined the contact.  Not enough for someone to just glance at me and notice.

I walked out of my room saying goodbye for the final time.  I looked around and found Lissa walking with Christian.  Oh shit!  I forgot all about him.  He could be the reason that I couldn't finish what I came to do.  I'd have to find something to get him thrown out of the party.  I walked down, yelling at them.  Lissa stopped and ran to me.  Well ran as well as she could in heels.  I was smart and decided to just wear some sexy flats.  I would need a fast get away. 

"Rose!"  She screamed again nearly deafening me.  I looked at her and smiled my fake smile.  She hugged me and we started walking towards the party.  Soon we were there and I could smell all the blood.  I was already going crazy.  This was going to be hard for me.  I couldn't stand not being able to take Lissa right here.

I quickly found Dimitri.  He was staring at me and I laughed a little and walked away.  Two hours went by before headmistresses stopped the music and asked me to come up and speak.  I smiled and walked up.  "Hey everyone, um can Lissa come up here?"  She looked at me shocked and hurried up to me.  Once she stood next me me I smiled.  "Well I'm glad you're all hear cause I have some big news."  I took my contacts out and smiled.  Everyone gasped and I saw guardians look confused.  "You know security should really step up, I mean I'm strigoi and I've been living among y'all for a week now."  I grabbed Lissa as the guardians started running up towards me.  She screamed as we ran off.  I ran to the old cabin where Dimitri and I finally went all the way.  I threw her on the bed and she hit her head passing out.  I smiled and walked over to her baring her neck to me. 

I sunk my teeth in and let her warm blood pour into my mouth just as I felt a sharp pain in my heart.  I pulled away and saw Lissa holding a stake n her hands.  I gasped and felt a surg of energy run through me.  I felt my heart start beating again and could feel the blood rush back to my cheeks.  She gasped as she must have saw my eyes go back to their orginal color. 

I pulled the stake out and fell to the ground.  I could breath fully again.  I couldn't smell as could as good as I once could.  I curled up, holding my knees into my chest crying.  This wasn't happening.  Nobody could change a strigoi once they had turned.  It was impossible.  "Rose?"  She knelt down to me and I moved away from her. 

"Stay away from me!"  I yelled and just at that Dimitri ran in the door followed by Christian.  Christian ran towards Lissa and she kept her eyes on me. 

"Dimitri don't kill her.  She's, she's Rose again."  He got down on one knee looking in my eyes.  I mean of course I planned on him getting on one knee for me but never imagined it would be like this. 

"How?"  I cried harder and got up running out of the building.  Just to be stopped by twenty other guardians.  "Stop!"  I heard Dimitri yell to all of them.  "She's not strigoi anymore.  Look at her eyes.  Rose show them your teeth."  I did as he said and some of them dropped their stakes in awe.  "Listen to the beating of her heart.  She can't be strigoi.  She is here in front of us breathing." 

So before you go and thinking this is going to be just like the book don't worry it's not.
