~Kirito's POV~
It was a silent walk after that. Kind of awkward. I saw (Y/N) stop out of the corner of my eye. She looked at the school from afar, and her face was pale and she was shaking in fear. Frowning softly to myself, I lightly placed my fingers in her's and intertwined them lightly, pulling her closer to me. She jumped a little and looked at me, blushing. She hung her head and quickly let go of my hand, walking faster.
She's right... I don't think she could ever truly hate me.
"Hey (Y/N)," I started, catching up to her and standing in front of her and preventing her from going any farther. She glared at me but I just shrugged it off.
"There's a lot of people going to this school, so just follow me around for the day, okay?" She nodded faintly but kept up the angry glare. She looked right though me like I was translucent. I felt like it, anyway. Her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped as she stared behind me. I moved out of the way and followed her line of vision. At the far side of the school stood Rin Kane, a rather shy boy. He had light purple hair and dark red eyes, along with glasses and a solid black bracelet. His build was a little more than average. He was talking to his best friend, making out words I couldn't hear. I looked back to (Y/N) who was just staring at him, and her face started to turn red. There was this... Small growing pain in my chest and I flinched at it. It wasn't physical, however. I... Think it was jealously... No no, that can't happen. Sure, I like (Y/N), but why am I jealous?
Snapping my fingers in front of her face, she jumped a little and blushed worse, having been caught staring. She blinked twice and looked at me.
"W-what?"
"Were you staring at him?" I jabbed my thumb in Rin's direction. I saw the blush creep across (Y/N)'s face again as she looked to the side, scratching her cheek.
"N-no..." Her eyes slowly turned a light green.
Her eyes turn green when she lies?
"Really? Why are you lying to me?" I asked, and she seemed to be a little more tense as her eyes narrowed.
"Listen, it's my life, so stop acting like you're my dad. I'll do what I want." Her voice seemed to shake as she walked over to Rin.
Uh oh... I don't want them to meet!
I walked off in (Y/N)'s direction and grabbed her wrist. Right as she pulled away, the bell rang and Rin disappeared inside his class. I sighed a breath of relief and started walking off.
"Time for class." My brain was so cluttered of what just happened. (Y/N)'s mad at me and I think she's falling for Rin. This is bad.
