Chapter 52

Nadia

After James finished knotting, we went and ate in the living room naked before heading to the bedroom for another romp in the bed. We slept, we fucked, then we slept again. Thankfully, I didn't shift again without consent first. Eve seems calm and at peace. It's random when it happens, but I'm just grateful that I can probably go back to work after a couple of days. I'm excited to see how Kate and her husband Clint are doing working at the store, and I also admittedly miss home, my friends and my Melody. It's been a day, but it feels like we've been away for longer and less at the same time. Time doesn't exist when I'm with James, but then when he has to take care of his Alpha duties, I feel like so much time has passed, and I'm itching to go back to work.
That night while we were sitting on the couch in the main room after eating from room service, we were dressed for a change. It was hot and restricting, but James promised pool time afterwards if we tried it for a bit. A knock came at the door, and James got up quickly to go answer it. It was Steve, Maria, Sam, Kate, and Clint on the other side of the door. I finally realized why James insisted on clothes.
"Hello!" I wave excitedly at seeing people again.
"Oh wow, her aura is stronger than I thought" Kate bared her neck to me as did Clint and Maria. Sam seemed to be fighting it, as was Steve.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know how to turn it off" I apologize quickly, feeling ashamed I don't have a handle on my new abilities yet.
"No worries, I'm Kate in case you don't remember me" Kate says with an easy smile. I look into her kind eyes and give a smile.
"Of course I remember you, you have two little ones at home" I grinned. "How was work today?" I ask quickly.
"We mainly did restocking while Maria and Jenny worked in Potions until the bookstore was ready. We are waiting on two more shipments coming tomorrow, since they couldn't rush it all. Sales were pretty good. Jacob and Jenny said if business stays this way we will have full time positions" she sat down beside me and I can't help it. I lean in and take a sniff of her. She smells like cinnamon buns, and warm cozy nights in. I don't even realize I'm doing it, but I'm basically right at her neck.
"Nadia, you need to ask permission please" James gently tries to correct me.
"I'm sorry, but you smell so good" I humm, sitting back a bit feeling embarrassed.
"So do you Luna" Kate says and I only noticed now she was sniffing me too. "You smell like apple blossoms in the spring, and..." she stops for a moment to think about it. "Roses I think" she decides.
"We wanted you to get used to being around other wolves now that you've changed," James explains.
"Can I sniff your mate?" I ask Kate and she nods. I get up and Clint stands still while I sniff him. He smells like hot chocolate and a fire. A perfect match to Kate. "You two compliment each other" I smile at them both.
"Come on, I don't like you that close to other males" James leads me back to the couch. He goes to sit beside me, but Maria takes the other side of me from Kate. I can smell Christmas off of Maria and when Sam gets close, he's similar. I cross my legs and get more comfortable. I'm in just a pair of jeans and a graphic t-shirt. James lets out a small growl, but takes a seat in a chair close by.
"You can't keep her to yourself" Maria sasses him, and I have the feeling she's one of the few that can get away with it.
"How have you been feeling, Luna?" Clint asks.
"I'd love it if you all called me Nadia please. I'm just me, but a werewolf now I guess" I say a little shyly. "But I feel great! I haven't changed yet today, so I think I'm ready to go back to work" I grin.
"Not yet," James shakes his head. I pout slightly, not liking this tidbit of information. "Doctor Anthony said to give it five days" he reminds me. "You shifted early" he adds and I pout.
"She's a strong wolf," Sam says softly. "Her aura is as strong as yours, maybe a little stronger."
"Is that bad?" I ask.
"No baby doll, just means we need to work on toning it down a little for when you're in public or else everyone will be submitting to you as soon as they see you" James explains. I frown, because I don't mean to be doing any of this.
"I don't know how" I pout a little, feeling tears at my waterline.
"We will help you" Kate offers immediately and I look at her hopefully. "Just think of a safe space first," she instructs and I think of being at home with all of my books. "Now where are you?" she asks.
"At home with all of my books" I smile, with my eyes closed.
"Now imagine us all as books" Maria prompts and I do so.
"Phew, that's a little more bearable" Clint comments as I open my eyes and I give them all a broad smile. "Oh, there it is again" he flinches.
"Sorry, I'll work on it" I promise, imagining them as books again.
"You're doing great sweet heart" James promises. "Its a lot to learn in a short period of time."

James

Nadia continues chatting with Maria and Kate, and they look thick as thieves. I take the time to talk to Clint who's reported no rogues in sight yet. Steve who says that all of our business is still booming, and Sam who confirms the pack is doing well. New store fronts are being bought every day, and people are getting jobs that they need. It's all finally coming together. I never thought the move would go smoothly after the initial rocky area in the transition with the old packs starting a war on my lands. It feels like fate led us here, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be. Nadia makes eye contact with me, and I stop talking mid sentence to smile at her. She bites her bottom lip and blushes and I suddenly want the room devoid of anyone else besides her.
"Earth to James" Steve teases.
"What?" I ask him, surprised he's still here.
"You were talking about the pack" Sam smirks, already seeming to know where my head is at.
"Oh yeah, we should have some join the police force" I tell them, not really sure that's where my train of thought initially was, but it's a good idea just the same.
"I'll talk to some of the pack enforcers and see who wants to do it" Sam says, and stands up. "Time to go Maria" he says softly, looking at her with love in his chocolate brown eyes.
"Oh, but we were just getting to the good stuff" Maria pouts, but starts to stand up. Sam is quick to come to her aid since her belly is giving her some issues.
"That's us too, we have to get home to the kids before my mother gives them all chocolate" Clint chuckles.
"But... we are becoming besties" Kate pouts and Nadia looks at me as if to beg for a little more time.
"You can come over again tomorrow" I offer, and Nadia smiles at me. Kate and Nadia hug, then Maria hugs her as well. She's so quick to fit in.
"I guess I have to leave too" Steve starts. "But I don't feel like it yet" he adds teasingly. I growl at him and he laughs before getting up. "I love being able to rile you up so much" he grins.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Nadia waves and Steve pulls her in for a hug and she laughs a little. I growl again and go to swipe at him but he jumps away. They all leave, which leaves just me and Nadia in the penthouse suite again. She grins and starts undressing and heading to the pool room naked while I lock the door because I don't trust my brother and I undress on my way as well. She picked the hot tub again to start and she's just turning on the bubbles when I get to her. I slip in beside her and she curls up under my arm.
"How was that?" I ask her curiously.
"I enjoyed it. Everyone smells so good and interesting. I like that they are so friendly too" she gushes. "I think I'm making fast friends with Maria and Kate, which makes me happy" she hums to herself, and I can tell it's one of the songs that she really likes. She plays it often enough.
"Whats the name of that song?" I finally asked her.
"Perfect" she says before she resumes humming.
"Just like you" I grin and she looks a little bashful.
"I'm nowhere near perfect," she shakes her head. I wish I could take all those doubts away from her and reassure her that she's perfect according to me, but I realize that's going to take some time.
"That big brain of yours, is perfect," I start. "This beautiful face is perfect" I kiss her lips softly and hum. "This body is perfect for me," I say as I run my hands up and down her sides, grasping her at the hips. "That pussy, also perfect" I grin wolfishly. Her cheeks are a cherry red, and she looks a little overwhelmed but at the same time like she likes the compliments. "You were meant for me, and I'll show you every single day how perfect you are" I promise her. It's a vow I intend to keep. Just like the wedding vows I'm going to start working on as soon as she says yes. I just need Ducky's permission, which may take some convincing since we haven't been dating very long in most human's eyes. We need to be married for her Luna ceremony, so I'm a little on edge, wanting to get it done as soon as possible. Besides, she might already be pregnant with one of my pups, considering it's getting easier not to have my hands all over her all the time.
"It's decided, that's going to be our wedding song" I tell her with a grin and she flushes again.
"You've thought pretty far ahead" she giggles.
"I've already planned our retirement, don't get me started baby doll," I chuckle. It's not a lie, we will just spend our day's letting our pups run the community while I still chase her around the house looking to get frisky.
