The pack grounds are more than I could have ever dreamed of. I can see the outside of buildings are completed, but they are working on the interior now. James really did spare no expense. He took me inside the pack house and showed me where the library was going to be for the pack, and it was gigantic.
"This is just for the family, and I'll be buying from the store. Our house will have its own library" James promised, his blue eyes alight with mischief. He ran his hand through his medium length hair, and I felt like running my hands through it as well. No matter what he does, I find it attractive. There were several workmen around, each with their own scent. But they didn't smell like wolves. I'm starting to get used to the different scents. All of the pack wolves have an underlying scent of the woods. I have to wonder what the difference is between packs, but perhaps I too now have to ask for permission to leave pack lands. Not that there really is any reason to leave town except to see my mother, or go to the city for different essentials that are not offered here at home.
"We don't live here?" I ask in surprise. I thought that was the way it works.
"No, baby doll. We will have our own house" he grins. "That's where we are going next" he says as he leads me out the large building. I look around at the recently clear cut forest that still has strategic trees placed around the grounds. It's beautiful. Most of the buildings look like they are made by logs of the trees that were cut down. There were at least over a hundred houses easily, but the next house James brings me to is next to the pack house. It's larger than the other houses, and has a wrap-around porch. He walks me through the french doors and inside there's a large staircase to the second floor. To my right a door was open and there were two walls full of windows. The other two walls are book cases, built into the wall.
"Oh wow" I look around and gasp.
"There will be more book cases in the middle of the floor" James promises. "They just haven't gotten to it yet. You'll have a large couch to sit on, or lay out on while you read. Because we are not bringing that couch from your apartment" he says with a sparkle in his eye.
"Okay, I'll give up the couch" I laugh lightly.
"It's so uncomfortable" he joins in with a laugh.
"So very uncomfortable," I tittered. I'm a little embarrassed I've held onto it for so long. I can't help but think he's really trying to bring my dreams to come true.
"We each have an office, so you can write and do your Luna duties and I can work from home so I don't miss time out with you and the kids," he says.
"That will be important. How many bedrooms?" I ask curiously. I want to know how much he's thought ahead.
"Eight, one of them is a master suite and has its own bathroom" he grins and my jaw drops. It's a mansion, and he built it with me in mind for the future before we even officially got together. I think it's one of the most romantic things in the world and I give him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "There's one more house they haven't started on yet, but it will be next door for your mom and all the pets" he grins and my jaw drops again.
"Really?! Mom can come move here?" I ask in excitement.
"She's going to have to get used to keeping secrets, but yes. That's my intention" he nods. "She will be close enough to be able to see the family as much as she wants, and she can still have the door open as much as she wants, or the windows. None of my family will bother her except to maybe check on her or get to know her" James promises.
"I hope mom agrees to move" I lean into him, sighing softly.
"Maybe having kids will change her mind" he wiggles his eyebrows and I giggle again. I wasn't about to tell him that's already happening, Eve promised it. I don't know how he's going to react, but I'd rather wait for the first three months to be over first. He might figure it out, but I don't want to say it out loud until we are out of the danger zone.
"How is that Rutt treating you?" I tease.
"You look delicious, but there's too many people around here to see what's mine" James says, sounding like he's regretful of the situation.
"I could say the same about you" I practically purr. I do want him, and I feel warm all over. Every time he looks at me, my body seems to be ready for more. I want to tell it to calm down, but it's not getting the memo. There's so much I want to do, but a nice swim in the pool sounds fantastic too. James' phone pings and he pulls it out to check a message. "What is it?" I ask.
"Tony wants a meeting, and I can't leave that to Steve. We better head back. Maria also messaged me that she got your swimsuit and Steve said that the deep cleaning is done" he says.
"Who's Tony?" I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.
"The Alpha of the pack in the city" he says softly so no workers can hear him.
"Got it, let's go" I sashay my way to the front door and James runs up behind me and picks me up and I laugh as he carries me to the car.

James

I dropped off Nadia and we met the maid as we were coming in and Nadia growled at her possessively over me. The maid jumped and I had to pretend my stomach was growling. I have to admit, it was the maid's own fault. She looked at me. But man, that made me puff out my chest in pride. My mate is as possessive as I am. Nadia promised to behave herself while I'm gone so I had that to look forward to at least.
Getting to the office I saw Alpha Tony and Alpha Nick already in the room with Steve and Sam. Maria is likely working at Potions.
"Hello gentlemen" I give a smile as I see them and I come to the board table and take a seat with them.
"How is mated life?" Tony asks without any hesitation.
"It's been great! Nadia accepted me easily and has transitioned well" I grin.
"We are here about the rogues," Nick says, dampening my good mood. "They've been on both our territory, and we want to know if it's okay that we take them down and bring them to you, or would you prefer the Lycan king?" he asked.
"We knew you would have to make this decision," Steve offered.
"They've broken many werewolf laws, but they did attack your mate and that is usually punishment by death within the pack" Tony added.
"If you catch them, I would bring them to the Lycan king. If I catch them, or someone in my pack catches them, I'll kill them slowly and without mercy" I admit.
"So will the Lycan king" Sam sighs.
"The difference is I don't know if my mate can handle a little blood and gore yet" I frown. "She's resilient, but she seems so soft."
"She will learn after she starts shifting," Tony assured me.
"About that..." I clear my throat. "She did this morning"
"Already?" Nick asks, seeming surprised.
"I was surprised as well, she did it while I was sleeping" I say a little sheepishly. "Her wolf is beautiful, pure white, and not petite. She's large for an omega" I tell them.
"White wolves are exceptionally rare" Tony says while he seems to be thinking. "We don't see them for sometimes hundreds of years."
"We were shocked as well, but she doesn't have a handle on her shifting yet" I admit. "So we are keeping her hidden for now, she might need a week to get used to it."
"Are you going to report to the lycan king about having a white wolf in your pack now?" Nick asked.
"I don't think we have to jump the gun. She's just getting used to all of this. She still hasn't gotten used to the heightened senses yet," I replied. "She's innocent to our laws and ways."
"I wouldn't jump the gun either, if I'm going to be honest. She's a rare breed, and there's so much we don't know about them" Tony agreed.
"Good, so this conversation never happened" Nick nodded in agreement.
"Thank you" I gave a relieved smile.
"Are you still rutting?" Steve asked me a little worriedly.
"Yes, it's physically painful to be away from her right now," I admit. "She's perfect in every single way."
"I should go get her an iced tea while I'm at it. She's probably out by now" I think outloud.
"Well, we are headed to the bookstore," Tony grinned.
"They'll love that, the store took a hit being closed for a month" I tell them.
"Yes, and the allowance you gave the entire pack has gone to good use," Steve chuckles. "Everyone has been going in because of it, and now that they have had a taste of Jenny's concoctions they've been going on their own. Plus, there's lots of books to be read on the area" Sam informs.
"I was there before the meeting, they are clean out of books in that section, they've made an emergency order that's coming in tomorrow" Steve chuckles.
"Perfect, Nadia will have less to worry about when she gets back" I sigh happily. "If we didn't already have plenty of books to read, I'd pick up some more."
"Thank you for having this meeting with us" Nick shakes my hand firmly, then Tony takes a turn.
"It was a pleasure" I grin, hardly able to wait to get back to my mate who's likely waiting for me in bed, or in the pool... maybe the hot tub. Either way, no matter what I'll make love to her no matter where I find her. My need for her is insatiable, and I think she feels it too. I"m hoping the deep clean was effective, and there aren't any scents besides the cleansers. I didn't take long to take in the space fully when I dropped Nadia off. Now I'm regretting it considerably. What if she's uncomfortable? I'll have to make it up to her, no matter what it takes.
