8: Let Me Go

Ahai's POV

Someone shook me in my sleep, I was just about to kill them. "Go away!" I snuggled into bed further leaning against the warmth beside me.

"I'm trying Acki. You're the one not letting me." The person beside me said again. I just tightened my hold on the pillow I was snuggled to.

"That's ridiculous go away, let me sleep." Then the pillow moved in my grip.... Wait...

"Open your eyes Acki" I did as the memories of last night came flooding back. Sure enough, Balchazar was laying next to me looking as smug as ever, my arms wrapped around him.

Should I react or... My thoughts where cut off by a yawn. Nah.

"Shut up and let me sleep. I'll kick you out when I'm done." I laid my head back down and closed my eyes. His chest shook with his chuckle making it a little bit difficult to fall asleep. "Stop laughing so I can sleep dammit! I'm tired."He just continued to chuckle, it soon turning into a laugh.

"What's it going to take for you to let me go." I thought for a moment.

"My wine reserve, and my dog, you promise to get that for me I'll let you go." I yawned again pausing. "He'll get that and my favorite rum and I'll stay for as long as you fucking like." He stopped laughing and I felt him move to look at me. "Now hush and let me sleep.

"So wait, your saying if I get your wine, rum and dog, you'll stay."

"Yes now let me sleep."

"Done."

"Wait what?!" I looked up at him to see his signature smirk and his, oh so royal mischief in his eye.

"I'll get it for you, by the end of the day, all of it, and if I don't, then I guess you can leave."

"Bye bye!" I kicked him off of the bed and he landed with a crash. "Guess you better hurry, 13 hours until the sun sets and it's an 6 hour ride both ways."

He laughed getting up. "Alright, alright." So he left still laughing his smug little ass off, as he walked out the door.

Balchazar's POV

It was that easy, I left immediately and went to her fathers kingdom with a few men. It did take a few hours, but I was able to make it in 5 instead of 6, only to find I was expected by her father.

"King Balchazar. I've been waiting for you, I assume you have the traitor?" He smirked on his little throne the guards around him paughing a bit as he spoke.

"Actually I come to trade you a few things for something in your possesion."

He raised his eyebrows at me, "Alright, trading with you in the past has always been reasonable, though I expect a warning normally."

"I don't have much time, so I appologize for the inconvienience, but this needs to be done in haste." I hated buissness with this man. He was greedy and a crook very rarely did I ever deal with him. He was a pervert and always had two women by his throne with little if any clothes on. His son wasn't much better, if I wanted to waste the mam power I would have put an end to him years ago. Yet lives have to be valued, dispite my disloke for him, especially knowing how he's abused his daughter. How Acki put up with this man for so long is well beyond me, he was a mere toothpick.

"Why the rush, sit down and enjoy your visit, I'm sure our ladies will make you feel comfortable." I shuttered at the tgought.

"Just cut it out, I always decline, so lets get this over with." He chuckled.

"Balchazar, for a young king you allow no room for persuasion, I've always admired that about you. So what is it you desire?"

"The traitors belongings, I believe she has come into my kingdom and a bit of blackmail might help in bringing her in." He only tilted his head to the side.

"Why would you even consider this Balchazar? Surely you could capture her without these."

"Do you really care? I'm prepared to trade you for them and in my trades you've always gotten the better bargin."

He was silent for a long time. I hated this man with almost as much haterid as I had for my own father. At last the old man spoke.

"Very well, what do you offer?"

"Furs and fabrics in exchange for three items." I motioned for them to be brought in and the kings eyes widened slightly.

"Fine, fine I'll take it, just go get the things and leave." He had his soldiers grab the goods the instant he said those things and a misstress led me to her chambers.

She didn't have much other than weapons for display, but it wasn't hard to locate the reserves, however the dog was another story. The thing was guarding them, yes I mean thing because ot was as big as me. He sat and growled as we entered snapping ay any of the guards if they stepped to close to him. After a few attempts they all backed away, meaning it was my turn to try to tame the beast.

"Hey there boy..." I slowly walked a bit towards him. He didn't back down he had a dark black coat, which doesn't surprise me knowing her, and to add to it red tinted eyes. But any animal who liked her, means it must be just like her.

I steped closer and bent down on one knee just out of his reach, the growling stoped and I slowly reached out my hand.

"Dont you want to go back to her?" He sniffed my hand and his tail wagged a bit when i mentioned Acki. "Good boy." I stroked his forhead reaching for his chain and unhooking it from the wall.

"Let's go."
