Balchazar's POV
I lifted her limp body into my arms, and brushed her hair out of her face as I did. She looked peaceful, asleep in my arms, when we got to the castle it was hard to put her down. I never stopped to study her until now, black hair, pale white skin. She had so many scars, on her face there where two, one on her cheek and another on her forehead. Her neck had 3, her arms where covered in them. I know she was an assassin, but this many scars on someone so young- I've never asked her how old she was. Crap. She couldn't be much younger than me, and I'm only 18. As we came to the castle, I wondered what on earth she had to go through to get all of these...
When we got to her room, I was reluctant to let her down. In her sleep she had snuggled herself into my chest, and letting her go seemed cruel. Especially with what I was about to do. Slowly I set her down and had my guards come in, they took her hands and shackled them to the posts at the head of the bed, then my lock smith came and melted the locks down so she couldn't pick them. She would not be happy, but I couldn't have her go off and get killed.
When they where done I positioned the pillows so she would be comfortable and sat on a chair, I was going to be here for her when she awoke. She may be infuriated when she did, and she may even try to kill me out of anger, but she wouldn't succeed. During this, I wasn't leaving her side, if I did I might lose her, I was confident she wouldn't escape, but she was unpredictable. I sat by her side for two nights watching her... I wanted so badly to read her mind and see into her past to understand her.
That could be why you couldn't let her leave... That little voice in my head whispered.
Stay out of it, she would have died if she did.
Maybe, but that never stopped anyone else who came to you, besides you don't know that. She's unpredictable. Maybe you put more into her than you should. After all she's here to kill you.
She would have already, I've given her chances.
Admit it, you-
Then the chains rattled and I looked at her to see her slowly waking. Her eyes fluttered open and she went to shoot out of the bed when the chains stopped her.
"What the hell!" she turned and saw me and I put a smirk on my face, now for the interesting part.
"Good morning."
Dragona's POV
I woke up face to face with Balchazar, I was chained to a bed so that I couldn't sit up. I looked at the ceiling, I'd been in this situation before. It can be annoying when they just drag it on and on.
"I don't care, what you do to me. You will not get anything out of me. So can we just cut the chit chat and you can do whatever."
"I'm not doing anything to you, except maybe giving you food and water for the next week or so that you're in this bed like that." A WEEK?! If he thought for one moment I was going to sit here for a week tied up like this, him feeding me, or one of his stupid ass maids, this was not going to go well for him.
My left hand was already going for the lock to get it-
"Don't bother, the lock is melted and if you do manage to get out, I'm right by your side all day and night. You arn't escaping again." Bastered. I stayed silent for a bit looking up to the ceiling, I was going to get out, I just needed to figure out how. "By the way I realized I never asked how old you where," dumbass, I'm 16. "You're obviously younger then me by at least two years, so 15, 16 years?" Not bad.
Just then my stomach rumbled, he only smirked, "Hungry?" he looked smug waiting for my reply. Which my stomach gave for the second time, only louder.
"Fuck you."
"You'd enjoy that wouldn't you?" I glared as he got up and pulled a silver platter with a thick slab of steak on it. "You sure, it's still hot..." He placed it on the table next to me, it was still steamy and it smelled like it had been prepped for days, the steam was still coming off of it. I could see the juice pooling at the bottom, it looked so good and smelled delicious. it's been three days since I ate last, maybe a few bites wouldn't hurt- PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER!!
He chuckled beside me and I looked at the smirk he had on his smug little face, if my hands wheren't tied I'd have slapped it off.
"Here." He took a fork and held it to my lips, "eat." I shook my head, like hell he was going to feed me. I'd starve before that would happen.
"Come on, you where out for an entire day, I know you are hungry." I shook my head again and he only waved the meat under my nose. God it smelled so good... "Come on Ahai, it's not that heard."
I turned my head to the side so I could speak, "Call me that again, and these chains you say can hold will prove to be weaker than you know."
"I won't if you EAT." I still shook my head despite the water in my mouth. I didn't care how irrational it was, I wasn't going to eat out of his hand like a little submissive pup. he sighed moving the food away. "I'm beginning to understand why your father has it out for you, you can be very ungrateful, you're stubborn beyond belief. You fight eat and smell like a man, not to mention you scream in your sleep as if you where in a war-zone. You are compleatly and utterly annoying as hell." I looked at him knowing my eyes where wide. He was pissed. I felt like I had just been stabbed, I know that shouldn't have hurt, but it did.
"I brought you here into my castle, despite the fact of who you are. I've sheltered you, protected you, and you would rather keep yourself in harms way instead of accepting the help I've given you. Stop being such a foolish, scared little girl and accept it." I stayed silent looking at his strained features, I was honestly scared. These chains held me down and I was at this mercy, I had no idea what he was capable of yet, and he was pissed.
"If I say no? What will you do then? Keep me here? You wanna try every torture method to get me to talk and accept it? Why don't you just take advantage of me here and now like every other man in the world has?!" But I was too. How dare he sit there and act like for one moment he knew me or my life. Yes I was sent here to kill him, and yes I was a stubborn bitch, but that's how I've survived! I don't want pity, I'd never want the life I lived to even be acknowledged, but if he, walked one day in my shoes. One, day. He would never had said those things.
His eyes softened, the rest of his demeanor followed soon after, "Has Ahai?" I looked the other way, I would not break at these memories, I will not shed another tear I will not bend or for one second act like I care about them. They are just memories.
"Just go away, Leave me here, I don't want your charity or your pity. YOu don't need to know or understand anything, just go."
"I'm not leaving, you're stuck with me hun." I sighed. "Now, I would never do that to you first off. The fact you think I would is offensive, after all I have done, I would think you would see by now I'm not that kind of man."
"If I eat will you drop the subject?" I snapped it out, I didn't want his explanation.
"Yes." He sat and gave me a bite of the steak.
It was so much more delicious than I originally thought. I couldn't help but close my eyes and lean back into the pillows, it was amazing. I heard him chuckle as I swallowed and opened my mouth for another bite.Which he gave to me after a few moments.
"Water?" I hesitently nodded as and opened my mouth he poured slowly into it. I was so cold and refreshing I couldn't help but enjoy it, despite this humiliation. Then again I have a highly respected king was waiting on me hand and foot... It might have some advantages.
