I was waiting for the boys with dad on the top deck of the bounty. What the hell was talking them so long? Just as I was about to go down, I heard them coming up, making me huff. What took them so long today? They usually aren't this late.
"Little slow today, huh? What exactly did you dream about?" Kai asked, teasing Zane. I was shocked- Zane never sleeps in!
"Wait, Zane of all people ended up sleeping in?" I said with a huge smile on my face. "That's just golden." Zane glared at me, not impressed, before answering Kai's question.
"I saw the falcon again." I gasped, eager to hear more.
"Woah. Zane, every time you see that falcon, something big happens. First, it lead you to the secret tree house."
"Then it lead you to the bounty!" Cole chimed in as dad finally got started with the stretches.
"Alright, stretches. First, the swooping crane." It was silent as everyone got into position. Then, Zane whispered.
"This time, it showed me the green ninja." And that's about when I lost interest.
"The green ninja?!" The boys shouted, and I sighed quietly. Here we go again I guess.
Zane and I remained in position as dad turned around. "That looks more like the shocked monkey. Bad form, more focus." He scolded. Once he turned around, Jay spoke in a hushed tone.
"You can't just drop a bomb like that. Spill the beans."
"Yeah, what else did you see?" Watch him not remember anything else like most people with their dreams.
"They was fighting lord garmadon." Oh, never mind then. It would be funny if he didn't remember though.
"That's what the prophecy said. That the green ninja will defeat the dark lord. Did you manage to see which one of us it would be?"
"Yeah."
"Did you see?"
"I could not tell. They shared attributes each of us possessed."
"Now, pinching crab."
"Well, tell us everything. And don't spare any details." Dad turned around and went to Kai, and I pressed my mouth into a flat line. This wasn't going to end well. "There has to be some clue that tells us which one of us will be the green nin-Ow, ow, ow! Hey!" I snorted.
"What was so important to ignore my teachings?" Dad asked the boys, sounding kind of pissed.
"Uh, nothing?"
"It was nothing sensei."
"Yeah, we don't talk while you teach."
"Everyone was paying attention." I said nothing and looked at my feet. He already knew the boys were lying, and was going to rope me into whatever punishment he had in store one way or the other. Might as well be silent.
"Since you all seem to be lacking in focus, you can all share in the punishment. There it is.
"What?"
"Punishment?"
"It was all Zane!"
"I was merely answering their questions."
"No free time, and no video games. The rest of the day can be used for training. And tomorrow for that matter." He said, starting to leave.
"Training? For how long?"
"Until you can answer this simple riddle- what is the best way to defeat your enemy. Y/n, you cannot tell them the answer." I groaned. He used this on me when I fought back to a kid for bullying me when I was eleven. I knew the answer- to make them your friend. it took some work, but me and that girl, Casey, are actually best friends now. Which reminds me, I have to give her a call soon. Once this is over, I'll call her and check in how she's doing at college. She's always been a bit vain, but she loves beautifying others. She's in her third semester to become a beautician.
