Chapter 38- A True Alpha (Edited Chap)

"What does it mean? Another vampire attack?" I asked.

Derek sighed and said " Yeah and its going to happen again, only worse"

"So what happens next?" I asked Derek who was kneeled down next to the body of the victim. "Do we go after James?"

"No, we don't even know where he is or what he wants" Derek answered as he got up and looked at us. " You guys are gonna find out tomorrow from him in school. Get it?" He told us.

We nodded and started walking off to either Lydia's house or out of this place. I was going to grab Stiles from inside the house but when I saw him chatting with Lydia, I decided to leave him alone and walked home instead.

I saw Derek getting into his car. I stopped walking, thought about everything that happened earlier with Matt.

"Hey Derek" I called him and he got out of his car. I walked towards him as he stared at me curiously.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I wanna ask you something" I said "What exactly happened with you guys and Matt?"

He looked at me for a while, wondering whether or not to tell me the truth before saying "Get in, I'll explain it to you in the car"

" It all started when my Peter came back into town a few months ago. Peter bit Matt, and that's how Matt turned into a Kanima" Derek said after he started the car and stepped on the accelerator

"I don't get it. If Matt was bit by a werewolf, shouldn't he also be turning into a werewolf?" I asked.

" Yeah true, Matt became a werewolf at first. But Matt was a rare kinda werewolf. So rare that its only seen once or twice in a century. After Peter bit Matt, he became a part of my pack " Derek said.

"So what happened to him after he joined your pack" I was trying to imagine Matt as a werewolf and a part of Derek's pack.

"Peter happened. The kind of werewolf that Matt became, is special and it also has a split personality. A negative and a positive side. Peter realised this and started influencing Matt until he gave in to his dark side"

Split personality, this was beginning to sound familiar to me. It reminded me of Kanima-Scott.

"Once my pack and I realised what Matt was becoming, we confronted him in the woods and killed him. He was already a beta- Kanima when we fought last time. We barely won that battle" Derek finished explaining his story as soon we reached my house.

I opened the door but stopped halfway. "One more thing" I turned and faced him.

"What's happening to me?" I asked, thinking about what Derek said earlier about the part where I was powering him up. "You said I was powering you up. How?
