{tupelo honey - van morrison} This song is David's favorite song in real life, and it's such a great song indeed. I recommend listening to it while reading this chapter. :)
The car was silent, as it drove over mass expanses of fields and hills. The sky was as blue as could be, no clouds could be seen. Courtney was driving the car, but she didn't have to do much thinking, as they were going down a straight flat road in the middle of nowhere. Lisa was leaning against the window with her eyes closed, sleeping, and probably dreaming about the long arduous trip to come. David and Jennifer sat in the back of the car, wrapped up in a blanket with their arms around each other, whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears. The buzz of an airplane droning on across the sky is the memorable sound of a boring old Sunday. The hills surrounding the road were brown from the heat of the summer, bare and empty.
"This song is for the lovers entwined late in the afternoon" A man's voice rang out from the radio.
No one raised their heads. No one put out guesses as to what the song was. They just listened to it. The song was 'Tupelo Honey', by Van Morrison. The crackly fuzz of the radio was loud, but it didn't overpower the beautiful song. Courtney and Lisa thought of their partners back at home, while David and Jennifer smiled in each other's arms. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon, hot and sticky with nothing to do. None of them knew where they were, what state they could be in. Arizona? Nevada? New Mexico? None of them had a clue.
But the song began to play, filling their ears with the beautiful melody.
David made sure Courteney wasn't looking and Lisa was asleep, before quietly pecking Jennifer's lips. He softly kissed her until she responded herself. They hid underneath the blankets, gently savoring the emotion in their kiss. Jennifer held David's head, while his left hand held her cheek, and his right on her back. They kept as quiet as possible, refraining from going any farther than just kissing. Neither of them could breath very well underneath the blankets, and they were both already sweating from their closeness. Jennifer pulled away, and pulled back the blanket enough for them to breathe. They panted quietly, looking out for the turn of anyone's head. After a minute, they went back under. This time the kiss was more passionate, it was speedy and needy. Jennifer could already feel a small bulge in David's pants, so she backed off and let go of him.
"David, we can't do that!" She whispered into his ear.
They liked the idea of the naughtiness, but they couldn't get caught.
"Alright fine, but I can't wait to get to the next hotel." He replied, making Jennifer giggle.
They emerged from the blanket sweaty, red, messy haired, and out of breath. The two separated to keep cool. David rolled his window down, and Jennifer followed his lead, rolling down her own as well.
"Courteney, when will get to the next hotel?" Jennifer asked, straightening her hair.
Courtney laughed, and turned back to Jennifer.
"Are you asking me when you can have sex next?" Courteney asked, her voice raised.
Jennifer blushed, and covered her face with her hands.
"Not so loud, Lisa might hear! But seriously, when?" She replied, glancing at the sleeping Lisa.
Courtney checked the clock, and found their location on the map.
"Not too long, only about half an hour." She focused on the road, as Jennifer sighed in relief.

Later on the four checked into the hotel, sharing two rooms. Lisa and Courtney were together in one, with David and Jennifer in the other. The two rushed into their room to check it out. It was normal sized, with a queen sized bed and a bathroom. They set down their suit cases on the floor, and went up to the wall between their bedroom and the two girls'. David put his ear up against it, listening close.
"Do you think they'll be able to hear us?" Jennifer asked, leaning against his back.
He closed his eyes, and pressed his hands down.
"Hmm, I don't know maybe. Do you want to risk it?" He asked, turning back around to face her.
She smiled seductively at him, flashing him her bedroom eyes. They found their way to each other, enveloping their lips in a wet and sweet kiss. Jennifer laid back onto the bed, while David held himself above her, the muscles in his arms bulging. It wasn't too long before they had emerged from the covers.
The next morning they set off again, driving across America to the unknown.
