Clouds part in the skies, letting the sun shine across the courtyard where you and all of your classmates stand in front of the newly constructed dorm buildings.

A sense of relief allows all of your previously tense muscles to relax as you realize all of your classmates are here.
'No one's parents said no.'
You offer a few smiles to your classmates as you move to the back of the crowd and take a place beside Bakugou. You know he isn't exactly in the best head space given what transpired and you don't want him to feel alone.

You bump his shoulder lightly as you stand beside him. Months ago he would have returned the gesture with a disgusted snarl, but none of that is reflected in his face as he turns to look at you. An understanding only the two of you could ever comprehend passes between you and him through a simple look.
'You and me.'

Your father takes his place before the class and clears his throat, capturing everyone's attention.
"I am here to explain how the dorm assignments will work."
Your gut tells you he is going to inevitably explain far more than that.
"But first-"
'Yep. Saw that one coming.'
You can't help but prepare yourself for the embarrassment.

"There are other important matters at hand that need to be discussed."
Your body tenses. There's a slight brush of a calloused finger against your hand.
Although it relaxes your muscles, your heart beats ten times faster and your skin begins to warm. Your mind races, trying to make sense of these strange reactions.
'His explosion quirk must have some strange effect on mine. It is the same element after all.'
Aizawa continues talking and you're suddenly very thankful for the embarrassment to come.

"During your training camp, you were supposed to receive your provisional hero licenses."
The class murmurs about having forgotten that that was the whole point they were at the camp in the first place.
All of a sudden your dad starts listing names.
Kirishima, Yaoyoruzu, Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida.
And without fail, he calls your name.

Your heart bangs against the cage of your ribs. You know he's your dad but right now he's your teacher. And your teacher has rules he needs to follow and punishments he needs to put in order for misbehavior.
'He definitely would've told me if I was being expelled. Right?'
You start to spiral and you think of a new possible outcome every other second, the thoughts getting worse and worse.

"The six of you deliberately disobeyed the rules and went to rescue Bakugou that night."
You can feel the stares of your classmates without making eye contact with a single one. Instead you turn to look at Bakugou, who can only offer you a reassuring nod.
"If it were up to me, the six of you would be expelled. As a matter of fact, the rest of you would be expelled too, save for Hagakure, Jirou, and Bakugou. Sure, only six students went. But the rest of you knew about it and didn't stop them. You completely betrayed my trust."

The tension in the courtyard looms like a heavy fog and dampens any lingering excitement about moving into dorms. The guilt you haven't been able to get rid of the past few days only grows stronger as you see your classmates' distraught faces.

"In order to regain my trust, you all will need to abide by every rule and be exemplary students. That is all. Enjoy your new dorms."

Not a single one of you moves an inch as your father walks away and into the dorm building. Every last one of you is completely dumbfounded.
"That's it?" asks Todoroki.
Disbelief laces Mina's words, "We're supposed to be excited after that?"
You shake your head and say beneath your breath, "I've gotten worse punishments for finishing all the coffee at home."
Bakugou starts, "And here I was getting worried that with you gone, I'd have no one to make fun-"
"No one to save your ass. Yeah, that would really suck for you." You finish for him as you walk past him, throwing a little wink over your shoulder.
