The second you woke up this morning, doctors and nurses were already rushing you from lab to lab, having already scheduled your entire day full of CT scans, MRI scans, X-rays, blood work, and physical therapy. Occasionally, you'd see Mirio in the hallways, equally as booked and equally as depleted. The two of you managed to have aligning lunch breaks where you'd ranted about what better way to spend a weekend than to be examined and analyzed all day. Despite the draining process, the two of you are incredibly grateful for the hardworking doctors and nurses who are researching endlessly for a cure to the drug's effects. By the time you're out of your last appointment, your shoulder killing you from the physical therapy exercises, your dad catches you in the hallway.

"Hey, kid."
You huff out a breath and drop your head against your dad's chest.
He pulls you into a hug, "You must be so tired."
A groan is the only response you can manage.
You hear the rumble of your father's laugh in his chest, "Alright, I have some updates. You've been moved to 917, a private room, don't worry Mirio's right next door, and I finally managed to slip away from the hospital to go get your phone from Nighteye's meeting room."
You wrap your arms around your father, shoulder protesting, "Thanks, Dad. You're the best."
"Anything for you, kid." He pats your head gently and hands you your phone, "Now, go get some rest. Call your friends. I'm going to go check up on Eri, see if there's been more progress."
You squeeze him tightly before letting go and heading over to the elevator at the end of the hall.

While you wait for the elevator, you unlock your phone and gulp at the hundreds of notifications.
'So they know.'
Your fingers tense up as they hover over the messaging app and you reconsider opening them now. Knowing everyone would want answers you don't have is enough for you to move past the messages and over to your call log. You scroll through the drastically bright red missed calls with a sunken heart.
'Aunt Midnight, Mina, Mina, Denks, Mina, Aunt Midnight, Jirou, Denks, Kiri, Mina, Shinsbro, Serooo, Shinsbro, Momo, Uncle Mic, Uncle Mic, Shinsbro, Hagakure, Shoto, Uncle Mic, Tsu, Uraraka, Shoto, Bakugou.'
Shutting your eyes tight, you experience the confusing intensity of a bittersweet tug at your heart. You hate to be a source of worry to your friends and family. Luckily, you are sure that your father has already updated your aunt, uncle, and brother, which gives you time to prepare before facing them. Your friends will be busy with school and you're positive the others who were a part of the Eri rescue mission are giving them peace of mind. But one name stands out from your missed calls. The only person who is surely handling the situation alone.

You click on Bakugou's contact with shaking fingers.
'He should just be getting home from his remedial course.'
You hold in a breath as you quickly press on the call button before you can think better of it. Nervous butterflies take flight in the pit of your stomach and your heart thrums with every ring. The elevator signals its arrival and you step inside, pushing the nine button. The call fails within seconds of the elevator's lack of service and you blow out the breath you'd been holding in. You crack your fingers impatiently as you watch the numbers change on the indicator until it stops at nine. Before the doors can finish opening completely, your phone vibrates with an incoming call. Bakugou's contact lights up your screen and you take a deep breath before answering the call.

You bring the phone up to your ear as you walk down the hallway, scanning the room numbers for yours as you go.
Bakugou's voice is soft as your name comes through the speakers of your phone, "What's going on? Say something."
Your heart skips a beat and you steady yourself as you reach your room, "Bakugou. Hi."
You slide the door open and step inside your new room in the more residential section of the hospital, "I'm okay-"
Your words get stuck in your throat as familiar tufts of blonde hair shine against the setting sun outside the large windows. He pulls the phone from his ear and turns to face the sound of you opening your door. His crimson eyes widen at the sight of you.
